Some SW states bussed new arrivals to DC to give the new arrivals a good view of the national capital. Local officials of the national capital did not appreciate the unsolicited population increase.

Camped at Organ Pipe last weekend. We like it there. Last visit was in January. Did the South Puerto Blanco drive. The end parallels the border for several miles. Thousands upon thousands of plastic water bottles everywhere. Hundreds and hundreds of pieces of clothing as well. What’s this? Didn’t see this in January. Over a rise we witness what is best described as abject human desperation. On both sides. Hundreds and hundreds of migrants who look dirty, tired, desperate and scared. They are managed by two vans and about five border agents who also look utterly bewildered. We were shocked speechless. Unbelievable things are happening at the border. Everyone should see it.

As far as driving in the snow, I don’t want to take anything from the heroes here, but I’ve got forty years snow driving in cars, pickups, semi tractor trailer rigs and on motorcycles. Tires, sand in the bed…. Whatever. The trick is mellow. Easy on the gas. Easy on the wheel. Easy on the brakes. Smooth and steady. Speed is 35-55, depending, and be real, real sure when considering a pass.

I lived in Ajo for a year after I moved from PA. to AZ. Organ Pipe is a beautiful park. Living down there was just a little too remote for me, but is it definitely a beautiful area.

I used to work down there for the phone company. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT SPEED through the park. The Rangers are cool, but DO NOT SPEED. They don't tolerate it and Federal Judges like to feel their time is better spent than dealing with traffic fines. You will not get out of it.

Have a HAPPY SUNDAY my PEEPs

That’s so crazy. I worked for RWK performing building and generator maintenance/ installs. Everything from Hayes retirement home and the CO at Talking Rock in Prescott, all they way to Sanders with Gary.

I know that some of you, not all, have kids. What are you getting the kids for Christmas this year? My 11yo son has said he wants all the presents to go to underprivileged kids. While super sweet, we still want to get him something. Also, his older brother, 13, is getting a phone.

This is what my kid is getting. Still want my opinion? All jokes aside I think gifting an experience is a good alternative to a physical item. Find something he likes to do like one of those Nascar ride alongs, or a day pass to an amusement park with you. Get a couple smaller presents and bring him with to a toy drive and drop them off with him. Just ideas :)

My boys are 24 and 21...for me, I've always focused more on memories and experiences versus buying things...they value and appreciate it now.

I agree with you both. The older boy is getting a phone as he’s in Jr high and it’s more out of necessity. We wanted something to equal that.
We’re all going on a cruise in February. That’s the main gift. So just one gift for each of them.
