All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Just started up the 250, I noticed the the nitro moose insert I have feels super squishy. Before it felt like about 12psi. Now it feels like 8-9, not sure what the hell is going on. It’s hasn’t been beat to hell yet.

I can deal with a squishy rear, but a squishy front is a recipe for a wipeout. Or maybe I just stay in the back tire :)

I worked from home yesterday so today was the first day of riding to work! Man, I picked a crazy day to start riding the Super Tenere… traffic was the worst I’ve seen so far and the fog was so thick I almost missed my exit and had to lane share my way through.

The bike itself was great, I was a little concerned about slow speed lane splitting but once I got into it I had no issues. I did adjust the rear brake pedal down a bit so I can cover it while splitting and that made slow speed stuff easier.

So far I have no complaints with the bike. The only thing I really missed was heated grips, which I will hopefully have in a few weeks anyways. The brakes and clutch are quite a bit heavier than the Versys but it’s not a bad thing. It feels very solid and I refer to it as my battleship lol.

I will say, with the fog I was super thankful for having spent the time installing the lights yesterday.

JK I need to clean the KTMs chain as well!

Nice! Will the FJR be getting one as a copilot as well?

Not for the FJR, Christmas gift for her, it will likely go in her car on the dash.

I love the yellow/black scheme. I actually like it more than the blue.

Come up this way and you’ll store it. Or ride around like the kid in The Christmas Story.

Have you guys seen anything about the Yamaha Tenere Rally 250? I'm surprised they didn't just throw the R3/MT03 motor into one.

Same! I feel so lucky for getting it. Thanks again to whoever posted it here and to the seller for not thinking I was a scammer for being out of town.:D

"Big" single has more useable torque and hp down low than a smaller cylinder-ed parallel twin. That's my guess.

    Looks sick though.

Tomorrow if I win the lottery... that I don't play. Realistically, I'm still in financial recovery mode and Christmas will slow that recovery. Best case I think would be spring, but more likely mid to late summer.

You're welcome, Sir. If it were an ES I probably would have bought it before your other bike grenaded. I was legit super stoked that you picked it up. In time this is just gonna be a Super Tenere thread.

I’m excited to see what color you get! speaking of which, which color does @nd4spdbh have?

Thankfully you can also get a 700cc or 1200cc Tenere. :D

Glad you are enjoying it! Take a moment to grease the front brake pivot/front brake master cylinder plunger as well as the clutch pivot and the brass bushing that's in the clutch lever that captures the plunger. That brass bushing will wear quickly and is quite a good bit of money for what it is.

From the numbers I saw.....it has more HP/TQ than the CRF300's  I'd like to see one with a WR450 motor. The WR250 motor was nice too.

Man I really need to start making a list of things to do that you’ve been telling me! Will any marine grease work? Or is there a write up on how best to do it?

That sounds exactly the same as the FJR. I just use Mobil 1 full synthetic grease, the red stuff. I do the gear shifter, rear brake pedal, clutch pivot, and front brake lever pivot all at the same sitting so I know I haven't missed any of them. I do mine once a year and that's usually sufficient.

Do you take the levers apart or just try and shove some grease in there?
