tire dressing that wont end up all over your tacoma.

It might be a question that allready has been asked, but do any of you know a tire dressing that wont end up all over the side of your truck after you put it on.. black majic is the worst ever.. My Tacoma is Red and it shows up as a greasy sopt at first then it is quickly covered by dust..

 

I usually wipe off the excess after letting it sit for a little while.

 

I spray the liquid tire dressing I use in a plastic cup and apply it with a paint brush.

Like anything liquid you need to let it dry a little.

No over-spray with that method, at least when it's going on...

 

Meguiars endurance is pretty good. I usually apply it with a sponge.....then add another coating a bit later. It doesn't sling off. Aerospace 303 is awesome stuff as well...but can be expensive.

It's all about application. When you're spraying it on (since most come in a spray-bottle) make sure there's no wind that's going to blow it all over your body panels.

If it's windy, just spray it on your rag, then apply it via rag.

Meguiar's Hot shine. Spray it on and wipe down with rag. Lasts a couple of wks.

 

I use gel based tire dressings. Apply with a sponge applicator (they are curved, for your convenience!) and make sure not to overapply. I think its important to NOT drive the car immediately too, so things can settle in.

I apply tire dressing immediately after drying, but before I start polishing/waxing. That way I'm sure it has time to settle in and reduces the chances of sling. Also too if I want more shine I can then do another application after/half-way into my polishing/waxing.

First off, if you are using a spray, never spray it on the tire itself or anywhere around the truck. I always walk away from the truck and spray the rag (I actually use old athletic socks turned inside out). I use Meguiars Hot Shine currently and it doesn't sling as bad as others, but I let it dry before driving.
