    Well Shane....

Today's lucky guesser has won 31 rounds of spent .22 casings (dirt included), a round-trip ticket to beautiful, historic Poplar Bluff, Missouri (just the ticket, not the actual trip:rolleyes:). Once our lucky winner arrives he (and he alone, no guests) will be treated to residential yards full of beautiful blue Walmart tarps, antique cars and trucks (in both the front yards and the back), distant sounds of gunfire (he'll think its opening day of gun season....but it wont be , and a host of other amenities that will make him thankful for his home.:)
This lucky winner will also receive @1buzzbait 's new book (and #788 Nobody Times bestseller) 'Ewe Can Cook Like Me If'n Ya Try Hard Enuff'!!!!

What a truly amazing package we've put together!!!!

I thought for sure you'd throw in the grunt call @Hobbs made from that deer unit but hey, can't give ALL the good stuff to one person :fistbump:

Last day for the Slug Gun in the watershed today.
I figured it was a nice day for a nature walk. Place was deserted, temps in the 30s and quiet walking.
Saw 2 big does and 4 Skippers. Wasn't planning on shooting anything unless it was one of those @dewayne kind of deer, lol.

Anyways, I set up for a bit at my famous stone wall spot and almost took a nap.
Back to the crossbow for the remainder of the season if the spirits move me.
(I was styling with my brand new hand made orange voyageur touque)

So, I took a pretty decent Buck opening day gun season. Talking to one of the other managers at work to the best of my recollection I've taken a deer every year since 85/86. Like I told him, I'll be 62 next season, so that run is coming to an end sooner rather than later. Another slap in the face by old age that I'm seemingly receiving with more regularity with every passing day.

Heck, I'll be 63 in a couple weeks and 49 continuous deer seasons in the rearview.
Blown shoulders, iffy back and other issues, I'll hobble out as long as I can.
I mostly solo hunt on public these days. Extra careful with my movements and hauling deer out.
No rush for anything. I ain't 30 anymore.

One old timer in our old group died at his favorite stand. Ain't a bad way to go.

    Is that a 220 or a 212? I’ve got a 220, it’s a tack driver

60s and 70s ain’t old. Y’all getting younger every day from my perspective at 55. Been at it since first kill solo at 13, baker tree stand and CVA .45 side lock ML. Some of you fellas prob understand the baker tree stand days. Dad at least walked me to the tree the first couple hunts and own my own from there. His first came about 6 years later so the learning curve was steep. Glad to even see a deer for more than a few years.
