Right, these people pulling in mountains for weeks ahead of this eventually have a bad week and it's news. :notsure: Oh well, they have 1 bad week in 50. I'll take those odds.

I saw a couple news articles that the PNW was getting pretty massive flooding/snow. If every pineapple express this years heads north of Mammoth I'd be super stoked. I still haven't gotten over last winter. All 59.5 feet of it. lol

It hit the mountains at 60 degrees, dumped 8" of rain, melted all the snow, and well, that water just goes down hill

That would have been Bishop last year but LADWP did an incredible job of managing the run-off during the spring rains. The Owens Valley already has substantial flood controls via canals, aquaducts, and the all the dams at the higher elevation lakes. LADWP dug even more temp canals to divert water into the desert. Theoretically that all ended up back in the Owens River but it did so at a slow enough pace that most major flooding that was forecast was averted.

idk man once a fool always a fool.

idk why it makes me think of this story, but...funny story inbound.

went work with my dad straight out of high school. he worked for a local beer delivery company. they were paid weekly and once a month they would have a company BBQ on fridays. well after a while they had to shut that down because some of the truck drivers would start a game of poker and well, poker, BBQ, beer, and a gambling problem was not a good mixture. there was a couple guys who'd lose there whole paycheck on the day it hit their account. fools be foolin

COST (Costco) has been doing very well the past couple of days. It'll be interesting to see the upcoming earnings report.

They sank because of a weight loss drug. There's been some recent concerns the past week or so about it, so Costco is back up.

I am not making this up, and try explaining this to someone from 300 years ago. Fighting the cold New England winters, manifest destinying across the plains, and try to explain this concept of weight loss drugs, corporations, and stock prices reflecting it.

seems easier than explaining that we have a handheld apparatus that gives us access to infinite knowledge, yet our youth are probably dumber than ever

Apparently there was a 3% drop in calories consumed year over in the U.S. attributed to Ozempic et al..
Were supposed to monetize this by buying stock in the manufacturers of the delivery system and NOT the drug... https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/NVO/
