Toyota Stalking, er...um, SPOTTING with Charlie™ (Cars, vans, SUVs, Lexus, Scion, and brochures)!

I don't think they would do forty grand on a car that starts at just under $29K new; I could see $20K. So even if the airbags went off, which they didn't in this case, you're thinking they'd probably fix it? My friend's 2018 DCLB TRD Sport with 33K miles on it just got totaled. Somebody ran a red light and kinda nailed the truck on the right rear before sideswiping and knocking the rear diff out of whack. The insurance company was going to fix the truck, but the body shop found previously unseen damage and they decided to total it. My friend bought a 2016 Tundra Limited a week ago...

 

Wonder if that was a deer meeting the Camry..

 

Even the biggest bucks in Southeast PA couldn't do that kind of damage directly, but it's possible the driver swerved to avoid a deer and crashed (Yes, I know that I live in Bucks County, but our deer still ain't that big ); I see strong hints of contact with a guardrail...

 

If there’s not structural damage, not totaled. Windows look intact. So replace body panels and the rim/tire, and she’s good to go.

 

I went years without seeing even one of these, but this is probably the fourth or fifth SC430 that I've seen this year!

It was a larger deer (not a buck) but a similar fate happened to my 1997 Oldsmobile in around 2004. Hit the leg as it ran out with the front right corner of my bumper and the body swung into the doors/fender on that side.

 

How many times did you wreck the damn thing?!?!

The two at the top are definitely Scions, but not sure about the other two...

Years ago I saw an old sedan (Accord Civic I think) with a wooden rear end. As in, the trunk rear hatch area was made of wood.

Looks more like an old car got rear-ended and someone decided to make themselves a pickup instead of scrapping it...

LOL, that looks ridiculous, l saw a Civic a few years back where they tried to make it into a pickup and had plywood as the rear of the cab.

My mechanic Pete owns The Fix Autoworks in Doylestown, but has probably three or four other mechanics working for him; Joe is the resident Toyota specialist, and most of the time he is the one working on my truck. Today, Joe and I were talking and he told me that one of their customers has a JDM Toyota HiAce; I asked him if he could call me when the van was in the shop again so I could get pictures, and he send me these pics. They were taken at the shop in Doylestown, PA in the summer of 2023.
