You might want to look into window tinting as well. Our upstairs bedroom has 3 large western facing windows with a huge vaulted ceiling so it just holds the heat in. I tinted all my upstairs western facing windows and the house felt like it stayed cooler longer. I didn't run the electricity numbers pre and post install so I cant tell with certainty if there was a true improvement so your mileage may vary. Now I have to debate whether or not I want to do a complete attic reinsulating project or not. The winter time is the best time to do this since the attic wont be 30k degrees. Even though I set the AC temp to 71/72 in the summer, it still feels much hotter to me in the house. I had a new trunk installed when I had my new AC unit installed in the attic which is giving me better airflow in the far rooms but it's not perfect yet but man, I don't wanna even know what the cost of reinsulating my attic will be.

@Kilo Charlie @Jtcmedic and everyone else, I found this in the shop yesterday while messing around. I forgot I had it. Everything is full or near full. I've never seen anyone do CPR from the back and I've seen it done on several people.

Is this a result of the epic desperation or a curb appeal display statement? :notsure:

Since we moved and switched insurance I figured it was time for a physical. I hate them with a passion and was dreading it, haven't had one in 3 years.

Doc came in yesterday, we talked about stuff I've had done the last several years, etc. He did a few checks and sent me for some blood work.

It was the best physical I've ever had, didn't even have to take my shirt off....or anything else :D

Dude that's wicked cool history right there!

It's amazing how much things have changed over the years. When I started it was 15 compressions and 2 rescue breaths. Then it changed to 30/2. Out of the 47 times I did it for real in the field I have never seen it from the back either. Is there a date on that?

Now days they don't even teach rescue breaths for the general population. The latest theory in that is that there is enough oxygen in the blood stream, it just needs to get moved around. One of the best inventions lately is the LUCAS device...

I say you keep that box closed and keep it around for historical value - thank you for sharing!

There isn't a date on it anywhere, I looked so hard trying to find one.

I get emails with a monthly report for my thermostat. Last year compared to this year was warmer but I cooled for less time.

    Screenshot_20231206_064630_Gmail.jpg

The only thing that changed in the last year was adding room darkening curtains in my bedroom. If that helped that much, I expect the room darkening curtains for the living room window and patio door should help even more.

For reference, my bedroom, living room and patio door are huge and all face west.

I did a quick search and came up empty. I'd say it's from the 1950's to 1960's just because of where it came from.

Years ago we restored the 1st firetruck the guys built at the department where we lived. It was a 1953 Chevrolet I think and the kit was under the seat. I set it in the shop at the house while I was doing some welding on it and yada yada it never got put back in the truck :anonymous:

Definitely some history right there... Do you have a state fire museum or anything over that way?

Not sure if there is or not.

Here's the truck after it was restored, I completely remade the tank out of 3/16" steel. Took me a month, lol.
