Used to put boards through the slider until one day I cracked the windshield. Ok on a 1st Gen since it is only $150…not so on the 3rd, it’s $850. Have a 8’ trailer so it all goes on that now, easier to load/unload anyways. use the slider mainly as airflow.

Yep, when it is time to get a new truck Tundra (or F150) is 90% the choice. Who knows may throw everyone for a loop and get a Subaru Outback. The gas mileage would be nice to have. Has 6’ depth of cargo area, plus the rear side doors are good for tossing stuff in there. Rear seats would stay folded down 99.9% of the time.

Have been driving manuals for 40 years, really wanted one, but Toyota discontinued it in the ACLB SR V6. As I age the more frugal I get, didn’t want to pay for it by being forced into a Sport to get it.

Gotta say…the auto is real nice, especially after beating the hell out of myself on the dirt bike, just sit there and drool on myself driving home.

 

You have to wonder if the frame really is beefier. It should be stiffer because it’s boxed but it can also be thinner steel. It sounds like from one video that it is only thicker steel in areas that need strength. How this holds up to rust is my concern. They don’t exactly have a good track record in that department. Thinner steel and more welds and seams sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. We’ll find out in a few years.

 

All three of those are great looking trucks. If the price were the same I would choose the Ford. I don’t want the hybrid max and have never been much of a fan of Chevy but would still probably put it at number 2.

 

I’m short and don’t have a fat belly so I’ve never had any issues with my seating position being uncomfortable. How would these people that complain about the Tacoma seats ever drive a sports car?

 

Well designed sports cars fit people of all shapes and sizes much better than the Tacoma.

 

Looks like Chevy farmed out their development to AEV while Ford prefers to do it in house.

Yep premium package, mudguards, stabilizer package and door edge guards. No need only financing $15k of it, lol. We all know I have a Taco problem here and no not the influencer type. I was a guinea pig with the 3rd gens, why the hell not again.

As a Base OR owner, your #1 reason is why I don't think the it's "better and better equipped" crowd gets it.

To get the slider is almost $4k in the lower upgrade package on the new 4th gen, where as on the 3rd gen it was standard equipment on a '17 and up DC TRD. $0 vs. $4,000.

 

+ power driver seat being standard, now optional.

 

I got a '17, so no experience there lol. It's ok, I don't like power seats anyways. I see it does have power lumbar though? Manual adjustment otherwise.

 

I like how the truck with 4' of lettering on the front is the toned down one haha.

Seating position in all my Toyota trucks fit me perfect. Saw the TK video, he was mentioning that in the 3rd Gen his legs are straight out, which when he said that looked fairly straight in the 4th. Thought that was kinda funny.

Our Trooper had a more upright seating position, didn’t care for it, felt like I was sitting on a stool, F150s are similar. Toyota’s ergos fit me better.

 

I thought the same thing about the TK guys legs. It doesn’t look much different to me. Maybe the telescoping steering makes it feel better?
