Funny how many smiles it gets.

Then after 30 years we did grow quite used to each other . Many things were fixed at her house and on her vehicles. Changing a light bulb maxed out her husbands mechanical skills.

When she retired she made sure to tell the new Doctor of our great relationship.

When we bought ours I didn't even know it had the capability until my wife started reading the manual :anonymous:

It is nice though, especially when we had the store. I'd start a load and it would tell me when it was done and I'd run over and put them in the dryer.

One of our customers sent us a job to quote for 10 parts, need them ASAP. They said do it.

The machine shop up the street sent us a job to quote for 10 parts, they need them ASAP.

It's the same 10 parts we quoted, boss man added $100 to the quote, they said do them.

We're making 20 parts for the same customer

My wife was a flight nurse and finished her career as a VA RN. I have no choice lol. In the tunnel incident, there were six of us up near the TBM. Three laborers and three of us engineers. Not much choice when one dropped to the ground not breathing.

Lol. Nope, bought the blank and wood handle material off Amazon.

Always wanted a Damascus knife. Might as well make my own.

We recently had a new AC system installed in our house and it came with one of those smart thermostats. It has an annoying advisory asking me to connect it to my wifi so it can tell me the outside temperature. I dont need my thermostat to tell me the outside temp, I can determine that for myself.

    That's not how those work.

It wants to know outside temps so it can change the anticipator settings. It helps with efficiency and comfort.

Well fellers, this job hasn't been without challenges, that said - a wise man (or a lazy one) knows when to fight and when to move on.

This is the original heat run for the kitchen, it is located on the top of the dirt/mud bank and there is about 7" below it.

    KIMG3649.jpg

I'm thinking that last 7 feet or so isn't getting insulation.

Do you think you could use some sort of spray foam insulation on that?

I get what you're saying but couldn't they just put a thermocouple inside the outside unit to determine exterior temperature? I find it suspect that they want to connect to wifi to determine exterior temps. Basic thermocouples are like pocket change compared to a a new exterior unit.

They used to do that. It was called outdoor reset. It's much cheaper to just tie into the house wifi. Like always, it's all about $.

They charge you more fore having that option, but it cost them no labor or little money to give you that option.

I wonder if I can establish a DMZ tunnel with my router to grant downloads but block uploads to the thermostat. I'll grant it the ability to pull exterior temp data but it shouldn't be uploading anything. Hell, it even has an Alexa setting, how lazy is that?
