K so I have a 2006 Toyota tacomy ex put in bad gas. I turned it off right awand and he said he took all the gas out of it.
Have done everything i'm supposed to do I change the Master air flow sensor all the gas was drained out. It was filled up With good gas I put fuel filter cleaner and some booster stuff. Now my truck will run, but it only goes to 40 at then it completely dies. But I also just found a weird plug that I don't know where it goes it's a female fuel injector connector but all the fuel injectors all have them

Any chance you could snap a pic and upload of the connector and where it is hanging in the engine bay? You can use the "Upload File" button next to post reply and the app or web page will open a window where you can select the target directory or camera roll to upload pics. Also: why change the MAF sensor? That is on the air intake side of things... fuel doesn't hit that. I wonder if it is the cam position sensor? Also: what motor are you running in your '06?

In my classic cars I have to deal with bad gas all the time as many have sat parked for years. I'll let the 2nd Gen grease monkeys with first hand experience speak to what they do for the taco, but what I do for the classic cars is:
    1. Drain the fuel and blow out the lines if needed
    2. Change the fuel filter
    3. Change the spark plugs (probably not needed in your case)
    4. Check the fuel bowls in the carb (not applicable for you) - empty them out and clean the carb
    Edit:
As I sit here thinking about the issue the above bothers me. If you can start, idle, and shift through the gears up until 40 then the fuel is not the issue. You are getting air, fuel, and spark. I'm starting to think more and more whatever that connector hanging around is your issue. The ECU may be making adjustments because it isn't getting a signal it needs from a sensor that has been disconnected. If I were in your shoes I would prioritize figuring out what that connector is for.

    Edit 2:

If you replaced the MAF were you troubleshooting an issue with the Taco before this bad gas incident? If so, what were you troubleshooting?

No idea, but maybe change your title of thread to something fuel related, like "help with fuel issues."

"Help" is usually reserved for people who are stuck/stranded somewhere and need immediate assistance. Good luck

You need to find out where that plug goes.
Can you get a picture of where it is, and what it looks like?
Or maybe what the wire colors are too?

    There is a filter.

    It's in the tank.
It's attached to the bottom of the fuel pump assembly.

I'm not familiar with that plug. Doesn't look stock to me.
But I'd need to check my engine bay to be sure.

    @Dm93 might know.
Other wise, I'll check mine later tonight.

Deutsch DT connectors are not stock 2nd Gen (or any Gen) Toyota Tacoma connectors. I think this must be an aftermarket circuit or something that was repaired using a Deutsch DT 2 pin. Is that thing hanging out on the driver's side? It looks like it from your pictures. Not sure what, if anything, this goes to. Can you trace what component is at the other end of the connector?

bank 1 -- Passenger Side -- O2 sensor is stuck lean. O2 sensors go bad after some time -- it took my 96 GMC about 4 years to go bad -- not sure what the average live of a 2nd gen O2 sensor is but I would start there.

Connector doesn’t look stock. Trace it and find out what it goes to.

all fuel injectors should be plugged In.

lean means it’s too much air in proportion to not enough fuel.

    o2 sensors can go bad.

fuel delivery parts like pump can fail causing lean code because it’s not delivering fuel. That can be checked with tests.

Other cars if an issue is fixed, they start running right.
I’ve heard the Tacoma is different in that if there’s an issue, then it is fixed, it can still run wrong until it goes through a few key cycles and starts running right again.

100k/10yr miles is typically end of life for any part.

Most 2nd gens are at least that.

o2 sensors are cheap, easy to replace, and doesn’t hurt to replace.
