Looks like the unit bearing failed.

He broke the add tube, and tried to drive without an outer stub in, which lets the wheel bearing come apart. Pretty common mistake.

I’ll add onto here for fun since most Rclt guys are running rcvs. Managed to break an rcv outer the other week, outer star cracked into tons of pieces, which then stripped the shaft.

Unit bearing 101 rookie mistake right there. When I was IFS, and had a jeep, I had an outer stub shaft from a broken axle for a "2wd conversion kit" to prevent exactly this.

Yeah pretty much everyone in my little wheeling group carries an inner and outer stub, shoot I used mine the other week to drive back from Utah haha.

I hadn't thought of needing just an outer stub shaft like this.
Think I'm going to carry a set of inner and outers instead of a complete axle.
I've been thinking of ordering all the parts for the ADD delete to have on hand.
I'm actually just starting to get spare parts I need to carry.
    Happy with my RCLT kit.
Highly recommend the Howe ps setup that JD fab has.
    Steering is easy and smooth.
Did have to replace the cv boots on the rcv axles.

Thanks for the detail I thought it was the entire diff, which seems like it could be the weak point in that setup.

Has there been any thoughts of making a stock width kit? Something for those people who might not want to increase track width but would like added strength?

Stock length = no increased articulation.

I understand that. I was more or less interested in the strength aspect of the design itself. As well as the ability to move the wheels forward in the wheel well. If there was a way to add 1-2 inches of travel at stock width that would be cool too.

I believe BTF moves the wheels forward and they’re at stock length.

You could do the jd pivot kit and go EL c/o's for the extra bit of travel, and honestly still be cheaper than the cost of the rclt kit in parts :notsure:
