Checking Fuelly, it seems the average 3rd gen Tacoma owner is somehow averaging 18.5 MPG, so assuming these guys are driving the same as one of those "average owners" they are doing a little better.

When he filled up the tank it said 255 miles of range. Must have been because he was getting much worse mpg the prior tank while taking it offroad. When he fills up again if you add up his miles driven with miles remains it’s 312 range. Still pretty bad.

It’s pretty pathetic when you consider how much work went into these new trucks and how much more complicated the new engine is. All for 1 mpg.

Vastly more torque at far lower RPM, far more useful power, and the same or slightly better mileage on bigger tires? Sign me the F up.

I get 19-20 mixed. And that is driving like an egg is under the pedal. Like @stevesnj has said, getting a lot more lowend torque is the benefit. Buyers will have to decide where they want to make the compromise.

Me, think bumping up to a 1/2 ton is the better choice for the money.

Its not that I’m forgetting it’s that I just don’t care about a tiny emissions improvement that’s going to do nothing.

Yea, that gas tank size is a big mistake.

Yeah that is lame, have a 18 in the 1G, so it is more like 15, since you want to have 2-3 gallons in there so not to run the fuel pump dry.

Generally get 265 per tank on the ‘99. Was absolutely thrilled the ‘21 gets 100 more than that. Have pushed it to 400 miles while interstate driving.

Then looking at the Tundra with the available 36 gallon, (with similar mpg to the Tacoma) that would be awesome!

If I have to go to the gas station twice a week I would rather just get an EV and charge at home.

Same, one of the “chores” I hate doing. Was going twice a week with the 1st gen. Now it is a little over a week and a half, not as bad, but could be better, 30+ mpg and the 21 gallon tank would be the sweet spot for me.

Those supposed 500-600 mile range ev trucks can’t get here fast enough.

In other news, ran to grab some lunch, parked beside a F150 Raptor, it was amaze balls that he was able to park in the same sized space that I did… lol!

Could they not have focused the engineering of the hybrid for higher mpg as to increase efficiency rather than increase torque and hp ? Maybe two types of hybrid options ?

There probably saving the high MPG for the stout/maverick competitor. I know most don't care but I'd like to see just how much a difference the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are for the iforce max and non hybrid. It better be a good amount quicker to make it worth it to me. Two types should have been made.

Out of curiosity today I strung along a Toyota dealer on trade. My truck is a loaded OR without suspension work with 14,5xx miles. They offered $35,500 against a 4Runner TRD Pro. Granted they were $1,500 under MSRP so if you wanted to add $2,500 to my offer then it may be apples to apples.

F150 Lightning XLTs are getting down to the low 50's now. Below 50 with the tax credit. Full tank every morning.

My range when towing is gonna drop from around 200 I get now to around 175 miles between fill ups. That's terrible.

Not quite there, but it's getting closer everyday. Prices aren't, but ICE stuff is running away there too.
