VLEDS Plug-and-Play Bed Light Kit

The harness is a little over built so people can add another light or two. Depending on the light you have, you can get a molded splitter from the website and plug it in to the bed light harness to make a new branch on one side of the bed:

And then there’s a pigtail WP2 connector you could plug into the splitter and run to your canopy light. Use some heat shrink butt splices to connect them or crimp a Deutsch or something:

Just an example — this may or may not work for your setup. Play around with the spare parts page on the website. I’m sure you can find something to make a clean connection.

 

Where does the harness exit the cab? Any install instructions available yet?

 

that's some proper bedlight kit right there. Those ebay LED strips might be cheaper but it's exactly what it is...cheap looking.

 

Still working on the install document, but the way it enters the cab is through a grommet in the floor. It's a lot easier than going through the firewall grommet.

I'd be all over this if I could add a little rubber switch to turn them on and off in the bed.

 

That is the intended use of the pin switch drop the tailgate and they’re on; eliminates one more switch to install.

I’ll be looking for this for sure. I may look into a on off switch for times I need light but the tailgate up. Happens an odd amount of times

See Dave’s comment below yours (he’s got a prototype set). If you need to turn the lights on with the tailgate up you just flip the cargo switch to the on position.

Hoping to have a date this coming week. Got slammed by Black Friday so we’re all focusing on these kits again Monday.

 

@kmorgan3 - Is the wiring harness dependent upon the Cargo Light wiring harness or just the cargo light switch? Asking since the topper blocks the light coming from the Cab mounted Cargo Light. Which in turn renders the cargo light useless.

 

Just the cargo light switch. Both test rigs we have the kit on have toppers
