It has been pretty rough since I started because I have the thing sprung for lots of weight. Now that it is getting heavier again it is feeling better. Definitely going to be stiffer with the changes I made to the rear so it will be fun to get it up to weight and experience that.

Since upgrading my speakers I have been really happy with sound quality. One thing I am missing now is bass. So that got me thinking about different options for subs. Since I have a AC I am weary of space and I would keep as much space really as I could. So I know I could like get a slim one that fits under the seat or I could get a sub that like fits between the two back seats. What would the pros and cons of each sub be

Under the seat is going to muddle the bass. You don't want to hide the bass.
Between the back seat might block the seat belt latches. You don't necessarily want to listen to the bass.
In my AC I would build a box behind the center console with the sub facing the back. A nice 10" in its smallest allowed enclosure would kick some nice tight bass off that back wall.
You want to FEEL THE BASS!:D:eek:

I tried explaining that to the guy who recorded my last band. I kept saying that it seemed like the lows were lacking, and he told me he had used a high pass filter at 80hz on my bass! I was like "What?!? You literally removed my root notes (up to around E2)! Pretty disappointing. The bass sounds fantastic, but you can't feel it.

The best part of live music is feeling the bass pounding your chest. High pass filters are for pansies.

Exactly! He was using a studio trick to keep the recording cleaner sounding. But, I thought of it as a lazy shortcut. Plus, Dangerfield wasn't a pop band. We were a loud, dirty rock band.

Actually, there's a funny video where a guy with a YouTube vlog referred to us as "the loudest bunch of motherfuckers I ever heard in my goddamn life."

We took it as a compliment. It was going to go on an album if we had ever gotten anywhere.

Oh there will be some mods all right
So asking for a friend and completely hypothetical, does anyone else in here with a third gen Tacoma have it fall completely flat on its face at 95 mph? Because my friends Tacoma, not that he does that speed all that often, just like stops accelerating completely at 95.

    Your friend, huh?

I don't know about the 3rd gens, but my 2nd gen hit 100 no problem. And, the 4Runner was over 100 a few times early on. My current tires are only rated for 99 (I think), so I don't push it over 100 anymore.

My 'friends' don't live that dangerously.
I know a guy that had a 1st gen at 114 before he said things got sketchy.
He never put his 3rd gen over 85 but apparently he didn't have any problems getting there.
    So he says.

I heard about a guy in a 3rd gen that hit 100 mph in rush hour traffic on an Interstate expressway down Chicago way once.

5460 was the scale reading on the way home. Up 300# since last week. Most of the heavy stuff is in there and done being added. Not sure the truck is going to get back where she was before the conversion...

The first time I set up my my gazelle in backyard, it was right before a storm rolled in. The sides were not staked down. The initial gust front was pretty sharp and it popped in one side. I easily pushed it back out from the inside, and it held strong the rest of the storm in fairly high winds. That said, if I’m out in the wild, I’d stake the sides if I knew a storm was coming.

I would think a rooftop hub tent would need to have some way of keeping the sides from popping in, especially since it would be so much more exposed.

Bingo! It's why I like a slightly elevated stage, the bass can rumble underneath my feet :D

    :101010:

I've taken my silver OR DCSB (AT) to 115 right quick when a semi and a dump truck were playing footsie in traffic and I wanted no part of that.
