Think I'll get in trouble for something the previous engineer didn't do and I had no idea about?

Only if it's your job to report it and you don't. Otherwise it's whoever is above you's job.

Oh it's definitely going up to the bosses tomorrow. Definitely could be some fines involved.

Gonna try my hand at 18 gauge tomorrow; 16 gauge is the perfect thickness for a quality sign

But going layered I should've gone 18 gauge

    Oh well

Border will get painted black, and the back plate will receive gold (will peek through the outline) and white (for the letters)

    Really should be, more maroon-burgundy.

I'll buy some tomorrow since I need to buy gold paint anyway; haven't been to Lowes in maybe 2+ years so finally going tomorrow since she's got an appointment out there.

You're an engineer now ya? Learn how to CYA. Engineers are first to be blamed for everything. I've had the wolves at my door before but always keep my side of the street squeaky clean. I always figure if I'm gonna get blamed for someone else's shit, with evidence of the contrary, and it cost me a job, that's not a place I want to work.

    Oh I know.

Im an environmental engineer in the oil and gas industry, the production team hates me.

I got all the environmental side of things dumped on me for Utah and North Dakota after they let the environmental lady in Denver go this summer.

lots of shit to learn and the EPA just dumped another 2000 pages of regulations on for us to learn and get a plan together.

Just got an email on the way home that isn't full over any good news from ND

Bro I have a lot of requirements building parts for classified components for the DoD, I hear you. It's just part of the business. Just get your docs reviewed, your SME's involved and go from there.

Also get your email off your phone, don't live like that.

I tried checking my work email out of state on vacation and I got a panicked call from HQ in London fearing my account was compromised.

My work pays a monthly tab for me to be available by phone but I'm not going to be married to work like that. No way is $50 a month worth it. If it came to that I would tell them to keep their money, I live 5minutes away, if you need me, call me.

Are you able to turn that shit off when you go home? If so I recommend you do. Work life balance my friend. 8 hours they own you, 8 hours you sleep, the other 8 are for you. Whether that's masturbating or spending time toht you family, it's yours, life is short. They don't own you.

First snow and the EV drivers have forgotten how to drive. Note the trim pealing off the driver's side.
