    No.

I did live in Oklahoma for a decade, growing up tho - that's close to 'under a rock'

    Soooo...

Long Greek name, uses all vowels but one, sounds sorta like an animal name or enough to inspire the nickname... which you hated.
Said animal is a mammal (not a giraffe) and "Ugh, it was the worst" :notsure:

You share the last name of a famous person, and were called by that person's first name (instead of Tiffany), by an educator...
... the famous person was in the same field as the educator.
"I remember one of my 9th grade teachers loved it because it was shared with a famous person within their field of teaching."
The name is consistently misspelled with an extra vowel.
    The name is "unpronounceable".

"My parents are throwing a party and my older sister had a bunch of friends over. One of them comes up to my mom and says, thank you Mrs. *Maiden name* and my sister corrects her friend and says, sorry it's *Louder*, so the friend says THANK YOU MRS. *MAIDEN NAME*

    :anonymous:
    Hopefully that made sense."

    No, it didn't :annoyed:

Now mind you, as you can see, I just reviewed all the relevant posts and parsed all your previous "clues", so don't try to confuse me

    Then there's this:

"Without another hint I don't believe anyone will be able to guess correctly.

But that might be the hint"

You're missing an additional hint provided when someone made his first guesses that would significantly narrow down what I've seen as guesses.

    Also...
"You share the last name of a famous person, and were called by that person's first name (instead of Tiffany), by an educator..."
Wrong. They didn't call me by that person's first name instead of Tiffany. They called me by the name in it's entirely and that is important so :p

"... the famous person was in the same field as the educator."
Again, I didn't say in the field of the educator. That would make them an educator. I said it was within their field of teaching.

As for the whole maiden name vs louder nonsense, my parents are divorced and my stepfathers last name is another fun one that sounds like Louder but is spelled differently. It's not really a part of the hints to my maiden name :notsure:

And I still hold true to my last statement that I don't think anyone will guess without an additional clue. I think without it you'll be ruling it out and that in itself is a clue so :p:rasta:

It seems to me that, (short of a sudden inspiration on someone's part)...
... there are two things (perhaps more) that we need to know before we can even begin tackling this mystery.

    - Discover the field of the 9th grade teacher
    - Identify the unpleasant mammal

Then cross check against Wikipedia's list of prominent people of Greek descent :notsure:
Which, helpfully has a breakdown by field.

Goodnight everybody, I need to go to bed... I feel crankiness coming on

    Bullshit
I went through your posts and even directly quoted several.

"It would be like an English teacher calling me Jane Austen because she loved that my last name was Austen."

And what is one to make of that?

"Again, I didn't say in the field of the educator. That would make them an educator. I said it was within their field of teaching."

    But you did say that.

"I remember one of my 9th grade teachers loved it because it was shared with a famous person within their field of teaching."

Please explain the difference. Did I say the famous person was an educator?

    I give up :annoyed:
