2002 tocoma extended cab

Yea it’s a side to side wobble it happens on speed bumps and right and left turns.on speed bumps I go extremely slow going over them and it hits super hard.

 

Passenger side caliper may be stuck causing the truck to pull to the left when braking. Alignment should also probably be checked because of the lfit.

 

I’ve got brand new calibers, brakes and rotors,brake hoses, all of that is brand new as far as alignment I’ve had 3 in the last month and it don’t fix anything

 

Have you ever replaced the lower control arm bushings?

 

Yes

 

Did you use OEM Toyota bushings? I had a set of Moog ones fail in 3 weeks once

 

Yea they are moog

 

Who did the work, could have been done wrong? I had that exact issue and found that one of the caliper pistons was seized.

 

I did it the 1st time then I actually took off the new calibers and replaced them again and took it to a shop the 2nd time

 

What lift did you go with? You said 3" but not brand and type.

 

Bilstiens 5100 I did a add a leaf

 

Sounds like you have had considerable work done to this truck.

I would go back and check every bolt where the suspension is bolted to the frame or the knuckle for propper torque.

 

So 5100's with original coils set to the top notch I guess, and an AAL in the original leaf packs. Is there any sound when this wobble happens

 

When you go over speed bumps there’s a big clunk in the front driver side

 

Have you attempted to recreate it with the truck on jacks?

Have you ever inspected your front differential mount bushings? Mine got bad to the point that my diff was clunking against my skid plate up front (generally when going over bumps or stopping abruptly.

 

I haven’t checked that that will be something to look at as well.

 

My main thing that has me puzzled is the pulling left while breaking I’m writing down every idea everyone has it’s going to the shop tomorrow for the 5th time

 

To me it sounds like you have 2 unrelated issues:

1) Front end clunk

2) Pull to the left while braking.

For #2 it's possible your rear end could actually be the culprit. Did you properly torque (and hopefully replace) your Ubolts when you lifted the rear? Have you checked your rear brakes out during any of this? I had a pull under braking after installing new rear drums and shoes and fixed it after a couple episodes of trial and error adjusting them.

And for #1 you're gonna wanna check all the things mentioned earlier in this thread

 

That's what mine did after installing 882's. Initially they gave over 3" lift which is too much, the shocks were topping out going over speed bumps. They quickly settled to under 3" and the top out clunk was gone. Probably not what you're experiencing and very well could be a loose or failed part. Some photos might help spot a problem. There are some knowledgeable folks on here with eagle eyes.

 

One more question - was all the suspension work (front and rear) done at the same time? One of the hazards of replacing a bunch of components simultaneously is when there are issues post installation, it's hard to pin down when so many parts are involved.
