There’s something to be said for making time on a 12 hour drive.
Oh, btw, I drive 80 on our interstates.
Cops won’t pull you over for that. I don’t even slow down for them at that speed.

On long drives I typically cruise around the speed limit. When I used to drive around the country for work I had plenty of time to experiment. Usually driving faster would result in less fuel economy resulting in more stops so you’d actually make worse time overall.

How can a Tacoma possibly have less mileage? :annoyed:

For some people that’s a good point lol mine was stockish so I would get 18-22 usually but could get that down to 15 if I tried

it always makes me laugh when people complain about tundra mpg. I’m usually 15-17… which is as good or better than a lotta tacos.. and I have 2x the fuel tank lol

That would drop mine from 16 all the way down to 15, maybe 14.69 :spending:

I wish. On a recent trip to the Porkies got 10 mpg going north at 70-75 mph. Trip home cruise set at 65 and 13 mpg.

In 2018 we upgraded the truck & camper from our 2001 rig that got 18 mpg. Bigger camper and totally different Taco. We were shocked with the drop of fuel economy.

Ahhhhh, I went to Chicago...a guy out of lower MI...he hasn't been going to Chicago for a while and I'm looking to upgrade my tune to an AGM battery. Only other option is Minneapolis. There is a guy from TN who has family in Wausau that I'm hoping to meet up with over Christmas time.

Agreed. Although, I'll shoot for 78-79 in Wisconsin, and up to 85 on the way to Florida and back.

I don't know how much time you tend to spend at the gas station, but going 80 versus 70 on my drive to Florida will save me about 2.5 hours of actual drive time. Add one extra fuel stop, and I still save over 2 hours.

If you drive a Rivian, the fuel stops might be a bit longer...

This is one of several reasons I am not interested in an electric vehicle anytime soon.
