Good day folks, I feel like this is going to be a straight forward issue with the lock mechanism being broken but wanted to try to see if anyone can confirm before I start taking things apart.

When I lock the truck using the button, all doors lock and the plunger moves down. If I try to pen the locked passenger door from inside of the truck, it is indeed locked.

When I go around and pull the passenger handle (door still indicates locked) I can just open it right up like it isn't.

Obligatory "I tried looking around in the forums but..." all I am getting are results about people locking their keys in, or the door not opening with the key when locked.

    Thanks in advance

The locking/unlocking mechanism itself may not necessarily be broken. A retainer clip in the linkage from the outside handle to the locking mechanism could have let loose, broken, or come off. A visual inspection of that linkage should tell you what's going on. It's separate from the inside handle linkage and/or the power door lock/unlock mechanism.

Awesome, thank you for the starting point. I’ll get it pulled apart and look for the clips.

I am waiting for them to get delivered but is that something I can track down in the service manuals?

I just had a look though, and the pages with the door diagrams (Components and Disassembly) and they are a little vague when it comes to the control links as they call them.

I've never gotten too much detailed information from printed manuals, TBH. They are good for general instructions, for the most part. @Zenerix - I think a personal inspection will tell you what you need to know.

Remember, you have a working side you can compare too
Just have to remove opo door card to investigate what moves correctly/what doesn’t move correctly
