Exactly, the majority of people buying them are doing so as a status vehicle. Half the moms or girls in our neighborhood wanted one cause they are cool, not cause of the old school Toyota aspects. They’ll eat up the new one too.

My wife has a '21 T4R Limited and we both think my '21 Tacoma feels peppier.

    Different strokes...

The most eco friendly thing to do is keep the vehicle you have regardless of fuel economy.

They will. Truck King seemed fairly disappointed with it. Said sure it has more power and does ride nice, but overall a let down. That’s comforting knowing most trims sold will be north of $50K. Crazy to think the once humble Toyota pickup has become a thing of status.

Honestly if it wasn't for the 5 speed transmission I would get 4runner in a heartbeat. Saw one on my lunch break with a level and bigger tires ...they look better then a Tacoma

Great vehicles but veryyy old school by modern standards since they've been around for 14 years now.

The 5 speed isn't bad since that 4.0 has decent power, my biggest gripe is the insane amount of nose dive they have when braking and body roll.

So I'm guessing the iso seats on the pro are not an option, otherwise it would say "available". Is the SR double cab leaf spring rear suspension like the 2-door?

Option on the pro not on the other trims

I don't think the Tacoma has become a status symbol (though I'll agree the 4R has made soccer mom status). The Tacoma does well because of the real/perceived value. The Civic has had the same evolution.

The Broverland target market they are aiming at would suggest otherwise.

Agreed with the Civic, the cheap no nonsense Honda is the Fit now. Same with the Camry, long way from its humble beginnings, Yaris is the sensible choice.

Easily fixed with better front shocks and springs.

Our '21 Limited with the KDSS doesn't have the nosedive or the body roll issues. My '14 SR5 did though.

Not around here. Toyota’s are for the peasants that can’t afford the latest Lexus, Rivian, Audi, BMW or Mercedes.

Everything reported so far says that the SR in any configuration comes with leaf springs. Then again, everyone also initially reported that all SRs got the detuned engine which is not true since the manual SR gets the full-powered iforce. I’m hoping that Toyota just puts coils on all double cabs since I’ll prob get an SR, but prob not the case lol

Yup. No one’s seems to understand that it takes a lot of fossil fuels for the raw materials and manufacturing of new products.

Same in my area though the Telluride is taking 4Runner market share in the soccer mom peasant ranks.
