Its simple. My strong swingin side took about 5 minutes then the weak side took much longer. Find a friend whos lefty is my advise.

Heres a link so you get the idea.

The tech doesn’t know what he’s doing. Problem with going to a basic auto shop versus an off-road shop is the tech’s don’t want go outside of the auto manufacturers recommendations. If they set caster, camber and toe are beyond the factory settings they could be held liable if you get into an accident because the vehicle doesn’t handle like OEM now. If you go to an off-road shop they can max out the caster which will allow you to clear your body mount, pinch weld and fire wall.

If you have to do the pinch weld it’s fairly simple. Took me just over an hour to do both sides on mine. No need to remove your fender liners like all the YouTube videos show. I think it’s 2-3 clips and a few screws to move the fender liner out of the way then Use a bungee to hold it. A 5 lbs hammer and a few good whacks is all it takes to fold the weld over. Then use some spray paint or sealant to cover up the chipped paint.

Thanks everyone for your help. I’ve trimmed & melted a little more plastic & now it’s not rubbing when turning when driving normally. It does still rub when turning sharp & hitting a bump or dip (turning into driveway). I believe it’s kissing the frame when fully turned.

I will look into an off-road shop for an alignment & see what they say. I had no idea they did that so that’s my bad. Oh well live & learn. I’m open to doing the pinch weld fold also if that will help. Luckily for me I’m right handed & my wife is a lefty & when she’s upset she can probably do it faster than me. Making her upset, now that I know how to do:)

@Zuzzy thank you for the shout out! The Taco looks absolutely amazing! What a transformation wheels and tires make on the before and after pics. It looks like you have some solutions to get the rubbing solved.

Most people fitting skinny tires stick very close to oem spec wheels as that is part of the "Secret Sauce" to making them fit so easily. I fit 255/80R17s no problem with +4MM offset wheels.

After pouring through this thread and doing my research, it seems that the 17x8 wheel is quite illusive.

I present to you, the Black Rhino Aliso. This wheel has been discontinued by the MFG, but there are still quite a few left out there. Best pricing I’ve seen is from www.customwheeloffset.com

I've been trying to decide if I like this wheel or not ever since I found out about it. So far it seems to be the best compromise between size and weight. I'm also kinda surprised at how much vendors are trying to sell them for, I assumed they'd be discounted to liquidate them. If they go on sale I might have to get a set. But for now I look at them one day and like them then the next day I think they're ugly  They look like a copy of BMW E30 "bottlecap" wheels.

I don’t have the Aliso but I have had Black Rhino wheels for a few years now and I can attest to the fact that they are very well made.

No prob. I don’t do any crazy wheeling but I do some pretty rough trails and they have held up really well.

I slammed head on into a freeway barrier back in October doing 45mph. I had a set of Aliso wheels on my previous truck. Broke both passenger wheels. Two weeks later when I went to get stuff out of the truck, both of those wheels were still holding air.

Damn, head on!? Do you have pics of the damage to the truck? At first I assumed that damage was from just scraping a rock or something which didn't inspire confidence but after reading your comments seems like they're very strong.

It was my fault. Shit happens! Everyone was fortunately okay, and after a hellacious battle with insurance and scam towing companies, I’ve got a new truck.

I actually just bought another set of those same wheels to replace the SCS Gen5’s that I put on two weeks ago lol Should be joining the Cutter Club soon enough!

same proportionally but it’s the 235/85/16.

The Yoko’s spec out to 32x9.4x16. It was these or switch to a 17” and go with 255/75/17. I prefer 16’s on a 1st gen and get some more sidewall, which also has its negatives on such a light truck.
