So, my ABS and traction control lights came on simultaneously the other night; I remedied this by shutting off the truck. They stayed on for less than a minute, and went out. They have not come back on, but my mechanic did some investigating when I brought the truck in for an oil change and found the right front wheel speed sensor to be damaged. It is working right now, but I'm getting it fixed on Tuesday...

 

For a point of reference, my mechanic took a picture of both front wheel speed sensors. This is the left front unit, which was replaced a couple years ago because it was simply malfunctioning (rather than physically breaking)...

 

Shouldn't be overly expensive part and simple to change.

It's BAD when they break off inside the hole........

 

I don't like fucking around under the truck when it's this cold outside; $190 parts and labor, and most of that is the part. My mechanic is replacing it next Tuesday.

 

That's what she said!

 

It does, but in typical suburban American fashion, there's no room to put a vehicle in there...

I did not roll up to the intersection until after the accident occurred, but I stopped because I suspected that my dashcam captured something; I went to check on the people in the RAV4 and waited for the police to arrive so I could give them my contact info. It turns out that I did in fact capture the accident from a distance, and though it does not show the RAV4, the big rig seems to be going straight; I sent the dashcam footage to the first officer on the scene via an email address he gave me...
