Just reading that makes me glad I got 4 regular nuts from the dealership when I picked up both of our trucks.

 

Variant of the wheel nut story ...

A few years ago while I still had my 2007 Corolla, I sat in the waiting room at Discount Tire watching the technician (give the person some respect, given ...) take 30 minutes removing one of the wheel nuts. It was one of the infamous 2-different-metal-2-part nuts and the head-part separated from the inner-part. I paid $50 for a new set of 20 one-piece wheel nuts because the technician needed several tools to find one that removed the inner-part of the wheel nut.

 

I keep my wheel lock key in the glove box.

 

For all the world to steal, then remove the tires.

It is confusing, I know. "security locking" wheel nut that can be so secure you cannot remove the wheel when you need to. Strange times.

 

I still have the OEM TRD Off Road rims, don't think anyone would want to steal them. But I still keep the wheel locks on to prevent delinquents from loosening the wheel nuts.

Is it not under the back seat with the jack, or the factory didn't put it in the vehicle.

 

Did you have to install anything for the SXM atenna ?

 

It is held in place with a Velcro strip. The bottom piece is also Velcro’d to the rear piece. I haven’t removed it yet but will let you know.

 

I purchased everything, H.U., Speakers, Mounting Kit, Plug and Play Adapter Harness's Sirrius Tuner and misc all through Crutchfield. I both talked and chatted with them to be sure I had everything I needed. They have a great support staff. I had to splice just one wire in for the a.m/f.m antenna. There is some programming of an interface module so your steering controls and back up camera work. No big deal to do. I also have a audio junky friend help me on a couple connections. It wasn't cheap but no regrets.

 

The XM and GPS antenna are plug and play. You need to purchase the XM tune separate which is plug and play. Only one wire to tap in for the am/fm antenna. No big deal. I also had to use the mic that came with the Head Unit.

 

Someone mentions 'drill' on the dash, and I run for cover!!

 

If someone loosens 5 of the 6, they have probably achieved their delinquent goals.

I just got the same ditch lights too. I had a difficult time getting the hardware together too. They should have shipped them with lock nuts instead. To get them to run with the DRL you would probably have to run a relay and set the DRL as the signal wire so they would come on at the same time. Im still trying to figure out how to wire mine up. It would be cool to have them come on with the automatic high beams. But for now mine are just going to my switch panel. I just cut the harness before the relay so I could just have the power wires for both the main beam and the backlight and ground.
