    In my younger days I didn't realize how easy it was to keep your piles of crap in check just by moving more often. Now that I am older I realize that crap expands to fit the space that you have, and then you maintain the crap. Especially when you live in the same place for years/decades.

    very true. i've been waffling back and forth between "oh this is a great opportunity to purge" and then "i dont have the freaking time for this, i'll purge when i unpack!" so yeah...
    i have made three trips to goodwill and i'm on my 8th giant garbage bag as well.
    sucks that she'll have to spend all weekend miserable! but at least she'll have an interesting story to tell her new coworkers whenever she gets to start her job
