Still wouldn't hurt do the test I said, the PCM is going to disable the injector on any cylinder that the coil is unplugged so there should be no excess fuel to hurt anything even though you will have a misfire.

So it's stuttering but not dying now. But the fuel pump resistor or whatever the heat sink thing is. Is like boiling hot. Is that a good sign or a bad one

Even without load. When I goose throttle it like rev limits and fuel pressure jumps to 50psi and hammers. I didn't think my fuel pressure should ever change?
And truck won't rev past 2k rpm. Interesting.
Also have pending codes for fuel system too rich on both bank one and two

It's stuttering like a misfire or stuttering like a fueilng issue?
I can't tell you how hot the resistor can get, never touched mine while it was running.

I mean the pressure will increase a bit when the pump goes to high speed mode but not much, depending on where the fuel pressure regulator is referenced it may change it, stock is referenced to atmosphere and won't change but if it's referenced to manifold pressure it will change with engine speed and throttle position.

Do you still have csts? If so one may be plugged.

You mean cats? I have zero cats on this truck. But piggy back ecm to compensate for it. Hence no cat codes. Honest to God it's stuttering like a redline. But exactly at 2k. 1900-2000 rpm it just stops. It will rev right up to that and then bounce like a rev limiter almost

When it drops out is when the pressure spikes a bit but that makes sense because it takes a second or two to relieve into the cylinders. But zero codes. Just had the rich fuel on both banks and the codes for when I pulled the coil pack cause connectors but after I cleared those, they havent come back

@Dm93 @TnShooter would this apply on 2nd gen

saw this on another post about truck not revving past 2k and acting like a rev limiter

Yes a bad ground could certainly cause the issues you describe.

Here's location diagrams for all the grounds on the truck aside from the main one off the battery which should be fairly obvious where it goes.

What about the pending rich codes? That's not nothing. Maybe it's flooding itself out. Is it possible to disconnect the piggyback pcm? What is the coolant temp reading on scan tool?

No it's not possible. It would not run with our it. I have a procharger and a built motor so it is unable to run without something to correct the mods like having no cats, timing being different then stock, and different injectors, and fuel amounts. That was a pending code but has not came back since I cleared codes, and also don't know how long it's been in the ecm

Idk what the coolant temp is reading though, I have an electric fan on it and it's ran off a switch and a relay, but it has never gotten hot. And my afr stays consistently at 14.7 at idle and changes based on throttle and load. But always settles out to 14.7 ish. I can't get it to produce any boost currently which slightly bothers me, but it's just because when under 2k it isn't moving fast enough to make overcome the vacuum

Ok, checked every single ground and bone are loose on frame or connector or wires from crimps everything seems to be in order on grounds. Wiggles all wiring in engine bay and everywhere basically and nothing changes. Idles steady and perfect, even with AC on. Will not rev past 2k and actually just sits cutting fuel in and out at 2k. Noticed on my afr wideband that when it's cutting in and out its is going from 14.7 to 22.4 afr consistently

@Dm93 could it be the fuel pump? If so is there a test for that? Since it idles perfectly and only at 2k rpm exactly it cuts out?

Any fuel pump issue that would affect driveability should show up in a fuel pressure test prividing your watching it when the problem is occuring.
