Seems suspect the problem started after you added that aux relay.

Also doesn't seem right the resistor is "boiling" hot, though I certainly can't say for sure that's an issue

Ah. NVM then. Fuel pressure never drops I hooked gauge to fuel line and it stayed at 45 psi and sometimes jumped to closer to 50 but only once or twice.
Dang man. I'm not enjoying this haha I have no clue what could cause it to do what it's doing

Idk evrything I have is just shots in the dark without scoping the inputs and outputs of the PCM especially with having the piggyback ECU on there.

Ya that's my concern with taking it to the dealer because I'm worried they will burn everything up again. Even though I know they have the tools to look more into detail. That one experience really messed me up when taking it to other people

It's hard without having any cel or throwing codes. Even in limp mode there would be a code or two

@Dm93 i gave up. sending it to toyota. i have a friend who works at the dealership across town and talked to him a bit about it. with it being in limp mode and no cel, the only sign there is an issue is the cel flashes a few times right at start and then goes away, that and the 2k rev limiter from limp mode. so yall have all the right tools and diagnostic equipment to deal with that. while i dont haha

Ok @Dm93 @TnShooter first time I've heard of this but problem is solved.

Truck somehow was in something called valet mode. Dealership couldn't find anything wrong with it so I texted gadget and right off the rip he knew.

If y'all want I can share the steps to turn it on or off brought to you by gadget haha

Sounds like you turned on Valet mode.

    Try this:

    1. Key to RUN engine not running

    2. With your left foot hold the brake pedal down.

    3. With your right foot stroke the gas pedal to the floor and all the way up THREE times.

    4. Release the brake pedal. The check engine light should flash a bunch of times.

KEY off and start it up and it should be clear.

TWO stokes of the gas pedal turns it ON.

I have never heard such a mode on these trucks......weird.
Maybe it just a applies to the piggy back system?

I've never heard of this either, it's not referenced in service info anywhere that I've ever seen.

Well it may have only been on the original 2nd gens? Because it sure as heck fixed the issue. The dealership was like wtf

When I turned the truck on the cel flashed a few times. Apparently that was it telling me it was in valet mode?

That's really crazy, I can't find any reference to anything like that.
@Bishop84 you ever heard of this?

    Well……..

I am half tempted to try it on my truck.
But semi afraid it will work. And then I won’t be able to get it out of valet mode.

If I didn’t need to use my truck tomorrow. I’d go try it right now. :)

Maybe I’ll try it tomorrow.

    You did…….

    But my luck sucks.
And I have to help haul some stuff to the neighbors using my trailer. I’m not afraid to limp my truck up and down the road. But not while hauling a trailer.

Also, what do I need to do in order to have the CEL come on? And does the truck completely die?

I need to know this when I try it tomorrow.

It doesn't come on it just flashes like 8 times when you start the truck. Then it goes away.
