a new idea for you. a guy at work had these custom made for his jeep many years ago. i like the idea, i'd like to do 3-4 baja designs s2 lights on each side in that location, without the light bar spanning across the top. problem is, i want to come up with a way that mounting it uses factory bolt locations, with no modification to the a-pillar structure (though not opposed to tying it into a prinsu rack above the windshield).

Seeing this on my PC and not my phone has me wondering; did he cut those letters out with his hand torch?

Picked up some steel today, 16 gauge and 18 gauge

Only when I got home did I realize these were 5' long sheets

    Measured at 63" x 33"

Perfect, cause I've never cut 18 gauge on my table before; 15" x 33" scrap I can use to dial in on

    20231207_140116.jpg

Normally I'm pretty good at guessing what my settings will be but not this time

    20231207_145315.jpg

24 and 26 amps at 160 wouldn't cut all the way, and it wasn't until I was dialing in between 110 to 140 that pieces were dropping

Not perfect but so far it's the best of the bunch at 110 and 30 amps

    20231207_145504.jpg

With the worst being at 140 and 26 amps (that piece did fall out on its own after a bit)

    20231207_145510.jpg

Small part of me says 29 amps and between 105 to 115 could be the ticket; I'll test it when I've got time

Those two oval cut-outs? Making those 49ers signs from yesterday layered

Decided to create my own cut chart, not just scribbles on a paper but an actual word document

Now I want to go out and grab some other scrap for test purposes - I need to cover 14 gauge, 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4" :anonymous:

This is the 3rd part in my flatbed build for my brothers 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Please watch, like, comment and subscribe!

    https://youtu.be/dmsjeg062H4?si=6xvASuAleQj1acyX

Even if you don't watch the other two, this one has the majority of the building in it.

Last night I got an emergency order for a set of stiffies so I got those knocked out today

    20231208_112211.jpg

    20231208_123905.jpg

Also cut some saw blade style hangers

    20231208_135319.jpg

And got one of these done up

    20231208_204532.jpg

I'm a horrible painter and horrible at layering so as long as people order parts raw, I'll stay in business

That 49ers sign is for my mom since she's coming by to visit tomorrow; haven't seen her in months

Where did you get this file at? I’ve got a good friend at work who is getting ready to retire and I’d like to make him a layered one.

with all the drama surrounding youtube suddenly creating an arms race with ad blockers, and raising premium pricing all at the same time. it's basically the internet version of the cold war all over again.

Worked on my Christmas gifts this afternoon. These things are really popular. I think makes 7 I've made and still don't have one for myself.

    20231209_145157.jpg

This one I finally got a good cut on. I tried last Winter and had two failed attempts. Gradually, I've redrawn the entire sketch and finally got it right. I have a hanging sign with company name cut for underneath, but I don't want to post as this is a gift and you never know who might see it and spill the beans.

This is one a friend asked for after his wife say it on Amazon. Laser cut, they were asking $28. I traded it Wednesday for a case of cheap beer!

When I'm not cutting, I end up watching a cutting video and you're right...it's oddly relaxing!
