Did you receive an email for one specific bottle, or did you get to choose from what was available when you came up in line? our TW GR was an email saying you have the chance to buy this specific bottle, 30 only first come first serve.

My buddy said they had Weller 12yr and a few other bottles, but he didn’t pay attention to it.

Done painting the exterior of the lake house! Wasn’t as much of a PITA as I thought it would be, took about 3 days total over a few trips, but…it’s done!

So, now I enjoy an lovely Old Fashioned, as we get ready to head out to luminaria tour later tonight (flask will be in tow again as well )

Round two. Wife got this on for me today while out shopping. Quite tasty for sure.

 

You guys go on and on about JDSBBS. I got away from drinking bourbon and whiskey, but when I saw this 375ml bottle I thought, "Why Not?". I'll crack it open in the next few days.

 

Really enjoyed the Old Forester 1910 that I just finished. Exceeded expectations.

Also love a (relatively) local distillery Ironroot. Both Prometheus and Harbinger are great.

 

One more night of flask fun! A little windy for the luminarias to fire up, but still had a nice evening with my wife and son!

It has been wild to watch JD insert themselves right in the thick of the "best whiskies on the shelf" debate over the past few years.

Shitting on Jack Daniel's used to be a time honored tradition. I'd be mad at them for taking it away if the whiskey weren't so damn good. Their SBBS releases and their annual special releases have all been home runs, with the exception of that single malt special release last year (which was merely average, but still - leave the malts to the Scottish and Irish please, US producers).

 

hated the 2022 release at first, had a. Buddy over recently who is into that profile so I brought it out. Man, I’m still not a single malt guy, but it was light lears better than I remembered

 

I never hated it, I just remember thinking "This tastes like typical sherry cask Scotch", which is about $20-30 cheaper per bottle and ubiquitous.

bottom line, JD is a top notch distillery, cranking out hitters at an excellent price

my latest vertical goal is the JD special release line. All I need is the 1st one, heritage barrel.

 

They're the largest US producer by far. They should be.

I often get asked why craft whiskey isn't considered high quality like craft beer, and I point people at this Chuck Cowdery article on the topic:
