HITCH ....

Time to replace the original Hitch (I believe its a Class IV Towing Receiver Hitch) can't tell for sure because its so rotted out there is no sticker or ID mark ..
Can't find any Class IV hitch aftermarket for the 2005 - 2015, I can find one for 2016 ...
Does anyone know if a 2016 will fit the 2007 ?

They don’t make a class 4 for your year tacoma. It all has to do with the ratings. The hitch for a 3rd gen may be class 4 rated but you can’t tow to those capacities

 

Stock hitch with the tow package is class 4 but yea I don't think you can get an aftermarket class 4 for it.

As for if the 16 one will fit I couldn't tell you.

 

You have a UHaul close by? Swing by there. They have an excellent warranty on their hitches.

 

I don't think that hitch will work.

I had to replace my dad's 06 TRD Off Road with the tow package


You can clearly see there's two bolt holes on the bottom bracket going up into the frame. There are also three bolts that go into the frame from the side. Plus there are two side bolts for that bottom bracket too. So 5 side bolts in total.

I got a used hitch, bumper bar, and rear bumper combo for $100 and 1.5 hour drive up here on the marketplace.

Yep my hitch gets fluid film too. Man that's some rotted good thing he wasn't towing with it!
