Hey there, first time on this forum and new to Tacoma's, just purchased my first. I got a 2022 Tacoma SR, it's a base model with the 2.7L and utility package. Very bare bones, nothing special, but it's mine.

Brakes feel vibraty in the back, I can post a video if it helps.

Thanks for any replies. Pic of my new ride is attached.

it is normal if you have the A/C or Defroster on.
The compressor kicks in and places a small load on the engine. With the idle being low, you will feel the engine shake.
It's normal. Nothing to worry about.

    Enjoy your new truck.

    And WELCOME TO TW!

Thank you. I figured it was, thanks for assuring me all is good. I do run the defrost (usually feet+defrost), so that does make sense.

Nice truck! IMO, 'Plain Jane' has a certain appeal. My 2007 is a black version of yours, also with the 2.7L. That engine as you've seen, gets the job done and has a great reputation. In warmer weather I average 22+ mpg with the 5 speed manual. I don't think the 2022s offered the 6 speed manual with the 2.7L. So I'm assuming yours is automatic. Newer automatics such as the latest 6 speed can return better fuel economy than a manual.

My truck is just like yours, only a 2020. 50K miles on it now, but has never once done what you're describing. Some may think this is normal, but it sure wouldn't seem normal to me. Had my truck been doing that a 13K? I'd of been at the dealer saying 'Figure it out'...

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Make sure the spark plugs are tight. In fact, put new plugs in it.

Nice truck, you're now the owner of a "bearded" taco!!! I have a 2019 utility that I turned into this. You will feel when the compressor kicks in, it's normal. The biggest gripe I had with this truck was the lack of throttle response. I fixed that, Banks pedal monster. Drives like a totally different truck. I had a 2004 5 speed manual with the 2.7l motor, that truck was awesome. Good luck with it. It's no race car but it is very reliable!!

They offered the 2.7 with a 5 speed in 2016 and 2017, but since then all the 4 bangers are autos.

I know, I was pretty pissed when I had to get a new truck. I totaled the 2004, but I didn’t want to buy used even if it was a manual.

I've been delighted with the '17 5 speed I got this yea. Love the simplicity.

Sorry it took so long to reply. The flares are OEM from Toyota. There is a thread here somewhere that shows how to install them. The wheels are Toyota FJ steelies 17x7.5 and I think about a positive 14/15 offset. They are pushed out a little further than the stock steelies.

No apology necessary. Thank you for getting back to me.

What size tires are you running, and is there any suspension lift?

Last question: Any wheel rub when turning?

I stand corrected on the size, they are 245/70/17's not 75's.
