Both my Walthers have rails.

I still have (on the shelf) the Viridian laser I got for the PK-380.
When I bought the Viridian, it was just about the best you could get $$$
Steady beam or strobe, very visible 532 nm green laser.
Visible even in daylight at short range... try that with a red laser.

Very gee-whiz and cool, but I question the utility of it on a home defense handgun.
And I'm not convinced about putting a light on one's handgun either.
You need to practice with it to get used to the change in balance...
... and how many people actually do much meaningful practice with their handguns?

An encounter in your home is apt to be sudden and at very close range.
You're gonna have enough to think about.

What you’re saying makes a great deal of sense. Once I pull the trigger ( pun somewhat intended) I’ll know more on whether I can or cannot agree.

More than likely I will opt for the rail. I’ll no better when I handle it, I guess.

 

I mounted the laser on my AR and played with it some before I took it off again.

It's certainly bright enough to destroy an intruder's night vision
So will a light.
