Small world, I worked on the ISB building after that tornado went through. Besides damaging the skin of the building, it moved the entire structure. Before the storm the building was out of plumb 2” leaning to the west, afterwards it leaned 3” to the east. Morning folks :hattip:enough storm trivia. This is a 10 story building, today you still can’t tell it was damaged.

Its hard for me to post on this thread. I'm 64 and in denial.
Also I thought when you retired you could just kick back and do what ever you wanted.
I'm still waiting for that to happen. (4 Years)
All we do is take care of older relatives because everyone assumes me and my wife have the time now.
I think its time to be selfish and take care of what we want before we need someone to be taking care of us.

Been saying the same stuff for years..

Sucks our retirement is a fantasy because of everyone else taking advantage of you..

If I could move and get away from it all I would lol…

Waiting for sunrise to survey damage around my house and neighborhood . Not hearing no traffic on the main route thru Gallatin which is 31E Gallatin Pike Is not a good sign . Most of the significant damage news stations are reporting on is a mile east of my house

Yes you need to look out for yourself and you are not being selfish. At our age stuff can happen too quickly and you have no control over what happens.

Good morning. Yesterday was interesting. We were bar hopping and the first two bars had the Army Navy game on. I do not waste a lot of time watching TV but I do try to catch the Army Navy game. Lots of fans for both teams in both bars. I got to thinking that after our generation has passed on the game will not be as popular as it is now due to not as many have served in the armed services. My wife quickly pointed out the fallacy in my logic, LOL. Weekend trip and we will have visited 7 different bars. I am tired of club soda with a lime twist.;)

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/storm watchers. We have occasional little twisters around here, plus what they call "wind shear" where two air masses slide across one another. One of those took two trees down in our driveway when we first moved here. A few years later we had a serious tornado threat, and a F3 tornado got to within less than a mile of our house. Picked up another house and dropped in out in the road, plus it destroyed several other places and a bunch of crops. Close enough for me!

Today we'll be getting the system that went through TN and other states south of us. Forecast is for a lot of rain and some wind, but no tornados -- yet! The storm will end here as snow, which could make for some fun. Stay safe folks.

Day off today, slept in, having coffee in bed with the kitties. Today I'll get some vanilla batches started, get another glue up done in my woodshop, and then head outside to burn scrapwood today. Gonna be a good day for that, Temps in the 40s.

Got my fingers crossed for everyone in Tornado Alley! I grew up in North Texas where tornados were common place. On my way home late one night from dropping off family, my Dodge D200 got picked up, rotated 360, and dropped on the median 20’ from an over pass. Almost wet my pants!
Lots more stories of tornados. Glad I don’t live in tornado country anymore.

[IMG] Over 60 thread. I like it. 69 here. I sold my 2012 and bought a 2022. Days later I went to the grocery store, came out and couldn't find the 2012 truck anywhere? :fingerscrossed:

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! And the cool down begins today - closer to "normal". 46*, clear sun, and breezy. In the 50's is all we'll get. OK with me.

I was there, out by the KVCC campus. Listening to the Tigers on WKZO, and they interrupted the game. Straight down West Main, through downtown, and made the curve on East Michigan. You could see the whole thing from where I was.

Jim is right - you get all the naps you can handle today!
