Ok, I got my 2023 Tacoma Saturday; I know it's brand new but I just keep thinking of mods I want to put on it. Not to make it gaudy, rather to personalize it. Nice truck, struggled between waiting on the 24's but pulled the trigger cuz I personally think the 23's will remain value until the madness settles down with the 4th Gen editions. Not to mention, traded a '20 Rav, work at Toyota and several, several thousands off; couldn't pass it up. Let's MOD UP.

We have to plow the property where I work right now. After 11 years of doing it through three different trucks (all 2500 HD's) I can safely say the quickest way to send a truck to an early grave is to put a plow on it.

New to the forum, bought the truck this spring. Not alot of modifications yet, but added a used truck A.R.E. Truck cap for the winter months, new rims and tires. Eventually would like the Toyota factory lift kit and heritage grille, but that is for another time when I can save up the funds for it. So far love the truck, no regrets! My last Toyota truck was in high school (1981 pickup, Gold color with roll bars and PIAA lights - regret ever parting with it).

What causes the early death? It is the weight of the snow and the wear on the engine? Legitimately asking as a guy who has never lived anywhere with consistent snow

Judging from the Tacoma plow thread this is a pretty polarizing topic and that sort of surprises me. Vehicles that do tasks aren’t going to last as long as highway commuters. Delivery vehicles, cabs, dedicated tow rigs, plows and slope vehicles (high hours, low miles, idling in sub zero on north slope of AK) are all severe interval service vehicles that are going to have increased wear/tear and reduced life span compared to the loathsome mall crawler.
Going slow and being careful isn’t going to change that fact that plows shift in and out of reverse thousands of times more than an average vehicle or that the front frame rails are constantly exposed to impact and pressure (no matter how minuscule) that they weren’t designed for.
I’m not telling anyone they can’t plow with a Tacoma, but saying that plowing doesn’t have any impact on a vehicle one way or another is disingenuous.

I have Hushmat for the outer door skin and the SoundSkins door kit ready to go for the truck but I'm apprehensive applying it in colder weather.

Any issues with adhesion while using a hairdryer?
