Im going to guess it’s a stick grill surround from a black sport model, good call though.

I just got a 2008 4 cyl acab taco. Would putting a 2 in lift on it be a bad idea? Can that little truck handle it? Sorry for the dumb question, I am still learning.

Welcome aboard. Does your truck have 5 lug or 6 lug wheels? You can lift either one and the truck will handle it just fine. That being said, there is more aftermarket support for the 6 lug/prerunner/4x4 trucks.

What are yall runnin for suspension? I'm having a hard time finding info on our trucks. It is to my understanding that our trucks are roughly 400-500 lbs lighter overall than the dcsb v6's? After doing endless amounts of googling and youtubing, I feel the Eibach pro 2.0's fit my needs pretty well by not being too stiff like the 5100's, but I haven't found anything for our trucks. I should say I plan to mostly do forest roads for Search and Rescue around the Tahoe area, and some camping without heavy gear. I should also clarify that my truck is a 3rd gen and currently has a 3/2 spacer lift. I'd like to keep it that high because it looks good to me :D

Is that the Sony single DIN receiver? I installed a Sony MEX-N5300BT receiver with Infinity 9633ix door speakers, and I'm wondering whether the Toyota BlueTooth mic works with the new receiver or do I need to install the Sony microphone? I started looking for the OEM mic location to figure out whether it's possible to replace it with the Sony version.
    Thanks for any advice. 20230216_094059[1].jpg

20230622_162510[1].jpg 20230521_172755[1].jpgFrom colder than usual, the hot weather returned, and I liked this view while walking back to Barcelona Red (Ole'!) from the bakery two blocks away with three loaves of fresh sourdough bread for my kids and their families. Thanks to Rich for producing his Oracal vinyl die-cut emblem overlay decals, and posting the color chart and advice on matching Toyota and Ford colors at TVDVinylDecals.com. As we were leaving the beach yesterday, my eldest thought the color-matched decals subdued the chrome emblems nicely.

Here’s my 2.7 5 speed access cab. Has 35x12.50s but also has 5.29 Nitro gears and a detroit locker to turn them. Just did valve cover gasket, coil packs and spark plugs. Really needs a coolant flush

I watched an episode of Motorweek last night, not new news but more details were shown of the 2024 model that will make the title of this thread a thing of the past. No 2.7L, and it may be called an Extended Cab. No seat in back and no opening doors to the back.

The show mentioned most sales of Tacomas are double cabs, I guess I'm not with the majority since the Access Cab is ideal for me and I think it looks the best.

How do you like the tires so far? I have 255/85/16s. 265/70s are stock for the OR. Falkens tend to be beefier tires and the stock tires that came with my truck were smallish. I cant decide between the falkens at 265/75 and 265/70. Do you have any close up side profile shots? Thanks!

I love the look. Way better than stock skinnies 245/75s what comes on stock SR/SX models. Big difference when cornering, grippier tyre. I did notice they are slightly taller being 70 over the stock Firestone 75s.

Thanks man I appreciate. I’m a big fan of falkens but I haven’t seen too many people with this size. Truck looks badass btw.

It's been awhile since I posted in this thread. Since my last post I installed FJ steelies powder coated white with Yokohama Geolandar GO15's in 245/70/17's. I like it!!

After visiting with the salesman at Parker Subaru as we looked at the Falken Wildpeaks on the CPO 2021 Subaru Ascent that my daughter picked up last Sunday, he mentioned that he's going to put those on his '99 Four Runner at replacement time, as they have a good enough AT tread and not much road noise. Parker Toyota is a good dealer, too. (I worked on the large steel Labrador Retriever that's parked outside the Toyota sales entrance.)20220310_091428[1].jpg

So I’m looking to pull the trigger on a 2018 access cab 2.7 4wd. 41,000 miles. Those of you that have bought with the 2.7 have any regrets?
