Definitely recommend St. Vincent's midwifery should you and Devin decide to have a family. Place was top notch care. Pretty cool setup there, they run the show with doctors backing them up should they need them.

Yeah no worries, it was apparent that even though we were in the area making the drive just wasn't going to work with everything going on

Ha okay so figured out my mystery sound.

Jacked up the truck to test the wheel bearings and it was tight. So said fuck it and pulled the wheel to see if something was caught or bent on the dust shield. I'd actually cut most the shield away.

    Well it's a brake pad!

Oddly enough it's not worth flat, it's worn tapered with the high side being toward the caliper and low side towards the hub. So if you look at the pads from the top of the calipers, or how you'd normally check, they look ok. On is low but not "replace this now" low. But if you look on the inside the cast iron backing is rubbing on the inside edge of the rotor. So that's my issue.

Easy fix at least. And hasn't fucked up my rotor yet.

Caliper pistons are pushing on the pad unevenly? Seems like an odd way for the pistons to seize up, usually one piston seizes and the other one is fine, which makes the pad wear at an angle front to rear. Either way it may point to a caliper needing to be rebuilt or your new pads will wear the same way.

Hm hadn't thought of that. I guess I'll find out when I take the pads out tomorrow. Lucky for me I have a whole set of calipers on back up ha

    Yes sir. Igor.

Yeah I've been through 3 sets of tundra calipers, I keep getting a frozen piston. Mine are pretty exposed though, with 2.50" BS up front.

Just replaced em, they’re Napa brand with a lifetime warranty. I’d rather they didn’t seize up and eat brake pads though. I’ve been thinking about some sort of deflector plate to keep mud and crap out of them if possible.

my wife swapped out her Denali for this rig and I swapped out my 4Runner for this:
    IMG_4582.jpg IMG_4581.jpg
It was a little tough to let the Runner go, but equally tough to find an all original ‘68 this clean. Cue the search to find a mint condition V8 4th gen again

They are so refined as compared to 15 years ago, I love everything about it compared to the last 5 rigs she’s had, the only thing GMC did better is the fold-down step up tailgate. Wish Toyota could get on that bandwagon.

    Looks about right! Man I hope that doesn't happen. Although I don't haul that much. Just 200 a go. That's a 275.
