Like the idea of multi link too, but my 3rd Gen rides pretty dang good. Ram had it long before, might be able to get it for cheaper. Maybe a lightly used diesel too if you look hard enough. Have seen those in the low 30s. Have a couple clients that have them, they said it has been good so far. Not a bad looking truck either, much more subdued than a Tacoma.

Sweet! im at 2 out of 3 already!

Heck, i'm down to 2 trailers so I am ahead of the game. I sold one trailer Friday, should have kept it since I sold it for what is amounting to one month payment on a new tacoma anyways.

Is smart path some sort of per-dealership database or is it a US-wide database?

Also, several years ago, you used to be able to go here: https://account.toyota.com/
without needing to log in, and just enter a VIN and it would show every port and dealer installed option by VIN. Now you need an account and it seems to only give some random subset of port and/or dealer options. In other words it used to be a really useful tool when shopping, to find out all installed equipment of vehicles listed at a given dealer but now, not so much.

the vin lookup fails because the VIN isn't accurate. :/ I thought I was gonna be able to see the color code or SOMETHING... every vin checker was like "nope, that VIN is missing the correct character in slot <insert number>"

Yes, my budget stock build. Camping, exploring and endless hiking. One epic Alaska Highway road trip towing that little trailer. All that with the 3.0L. 5spd. I had Purchased the truck new in 1992. Became 10 years of no fuss, outdoor enjoyment, for my girlfriend then wife. Perfect for 2 young people. Sold it after 14 years as new baby couldn't fit in the extra cab. The little trailer was even in the movie RV (Robin Williams) as a background prop.

That is awesome. Believe the 90s were the heyday of Toyota trucks, basic little things we used to plunk around and enjoy the sites. More about the travel than seeing what bullshit you can bolt to it.

We just watched that movie not too long ago, now need to view it again to see if I can spot your trailer. :)

More Tundras sitting around where I’m at. Some good trucks slipping under 60k via discounts. Gotta love a free market that corrects itself.

Really tough call next summer between a marked up Tacoma hybrid or a discounted Tundra. Ugly truck? Nah….

Assuming Tundra’s engine oil pressure problem has been resolved by then.

    Yes please.

Or even save a suitcase of cash on a 50k ZR2? Beat up the DSSV’s on warranty, and come back to Tacoma when there’s cash on the hood for hybrids. Choice is good thing.

I found a dealer doing 10% off a Colorado ZR2, $10,000 less than a TRD Pro and probably $6,000-7,500 less than a TRD Off Road.

For $10,000+ less & retaining storage under the rear seats versus batteries, some might be persuaded to live with “only” 430lbft of torque.

A lot of the YouTube testers say they prefer the 2.7T over the 2.4T, so then it’s just about reliability…

If you found a dealer doing a ZR2 for MSRP minus 10%, could you DM me that dealer’s name?
