@XPOTRPR if you have the NST supercharger pulley on the front, you will need longer bolts and to machine the outside of that tool to fit on the inside of the NST supercharger pulley. That should be easy for you. Lol!

Cams out. Time to measure the current lifters. 17021568989853257735238839665785.jpg

Thanks. This is what I was wondering.. how custom its going to need to be to fit in the NST crank pulley. I almost just turned on the compressor and machine at the shop to start making one. Figured I'd ask first before going down that rabbit hole. But.. might just make one anyway. A ring that fits around the bolt with clearance for a socket to pass through to the bolt, and keys into the bores on the pulley, then a mill out a half inch ratchet keyway on it to hold. Might be tight.. but figure something out.

Edit.. they had that tool for next day delivery. I just ordered it and I'll modify it tomorrow at the shop. Thanks guys.

Those internals looks like peepee. Do you not change your oil at regular intervals? Shame on you. And you call yourself a professional mechanic.

It does not take much. A couple .xxx or .xx of an inch. But its roundness is not true, so by the time you clean it up it should fit.

That was before me. If you looked at my tread for the engine rebuild and seen what it was. I could not find new vvt gears at that time. But everything that I cleaned still looks good.

I'll try and post a pic tomorrow. I forgot to get one of the new cams in before calling it quits for the day.
Still need to measure valve clearances and figure what new lifters I will need to buy. I still have the springs to install.

Makes sense bro. Don't feel bad, I change my oil every 5-6K max and my internals look sort of like that too. I'm like... Dafuq man.

With the radiator removed, I used a decent quality tie-down strap; and in the fashion of a strap wrench, chokered the pulley and hooked to the frame. then was able to get full torque on the torque wrench, no problem.

I've tested it on the Dual VVTi 4.0L. On that platform, it didn't do anything for power (but that's likely not the fault of the part). The casting was a bit more porous than the OEM TB; the machining wasn't as finished either. Overall, the part was a bit lighter, leading me to wonder about the electronics/motor package they used.

I only did a few dyno pulls, so I can't speak to long-term durability or if the electronics are a shortcoming.

I am sharing my initial, albeit limited, exposure/experience with it. By no means am I saying it's a bad part based on these observations, but I think the OEM TB would be how I'd go.

    I appreciate your input.
I am still teasing the idea of going below the 2.6" pulley. I still have the 650cc FIC injectors on hand. With every thing else I've modified it should balance out.
If I did increase the throttle body size I would also port the S/C inlet and maybe put in the 4runner intake... Getting the itch for more hrsprs.

Been busy recovering from our holiday friends party last night and installing valve springs.

Valve clearances have been measured and new buckets have been figure out. Luckily I only have to order 9. Hopefully next week I will have the truck running.
I contemplating putting a new coupler in the supercharger since it's off. I have about 30k-33k.

I had a few I do not need to adjust and I am able to swap lifters around to different locations to minimize the number I need. Most were about .05mm for less. I had one that was a little farther off.

Do you have the older non SAIS engine for those headers? Looks like it since I did not see the SAIS. Lucky. I have had a set of DTs for the SAIS version for awhile since it was "pending" certification. at this point its never going to happen.

Little trim and out to the parking lot to test and hopefully get this buzzed on and get the truck back to the house where I can really investigate. Or maybe I'll get lucky and just need to tighten it up and be able to go about my way.

If anyone is looking for Duro Bumps or RCV Axles, contact me. I am going to setup a Group Buy once the Admins bless it. This will help Holy Horsepower get set up as a dealer with both. The deal depends on how many sign up, as most groups buy.

Almost forgot. Maybe Baja Designs as well.
