Good luck with those.:fingerscrossed: Hopefully they will let you see the benefit that spending some real money on good hearing aids will bring. I think you can get a decent set of entry level aids for $1500-2000. You can also spend a whole lot more than that, but one of the benefits to getting good quality hearing aids is in the noise filtration tech built into them. Cheap hearing aids usually just amplify all of the ambient noises, leaving your brain to do the filtering. Most people quickly grow tired of the noise and quit using them. A good set that will be adjusted for your hearing loss, filtering out the junk and leaving the voices is worth the extra dollars. When the VA issued me my hearing aids the positive change to my quality of life was quite noticeable. I hadn't honestly heard a bird chirp in years, or heard a turn signal indicator make a sound until I go mine.

Before the end of the year we need to give those chocolate covered peanuts away that granny ate all the chocolate off of. Don’t want them going bad

    I do!

    Lots of choices too:

    rusty furnace metal
ancient ductwork with 50 years of fur & dust
    razor sharp flashing
an old fender from a Jeep Cherokee
filthy old fluorescent light fixture reflectors
    probably 1/2 dozen old mufflers
    rusty mower deck metal
    ... and more!

There is enough crap fabulous stuff in the archives we could have a new prize package every month, twice a month, weekly, really often...

Sometimes I feel inundated with all the crap I will never use valuable things that need new homes. :help:

I am 3 months into my first set of hearing aids and have to say they are one of the best gifts I ever gave myself. I purchased them at Costco and utilized their professional services (full audiology test with technician professional). Kramericas comments are spot on. The best advice is to make sure you use them everyday so your brain get retrained on how to hear correctly. After 3 months of continuous use what really stands out is my hearing when I don’t use them (I can’t hear worth a crap). I can now hear and participate in conversations in a noisy environment - like at a restaurant. I can program the hearing aids to suit the environment I’ll be in.
