I actually have a flashlight in my truck! Also, Chris, do you get the general feeling that police are more aggressively enforcing laws that nobody really gives a shit about? This encounter with the Bethlehem cop earlier tonight adds to the level of annoyance I have with LEOs...

I think that I had a little bit too much fun driving through the flooded spots last night...

Dm93 (2nd Gen forum guy) has been telling me to get a Phenix PD36R for a year now.
But if it won’t fit in my pocket comfortably, I won’t carry it.
I’ve been looking at the smaller lights.

Not sure what brand. Fenix and Olight have a few small ones that I like.
Just haven’t committed to pressing the buy button.

I know you didn’t ask me, but I don’t get that feeling.
Most police here don’t want to be bothered. Period.
They don’t “want” to ticket you. Most don’t even want interact with you.
Not unless they have a reason to…….

Fenex has a really thin one that you might like. One guy has them at work. I'll see if I can snap a pic.

I took a criminal justice class in college, which was taught by a retired Philly cop. A lot of the students in the class wanted to be police officers. He told us sorts of stories from his years on the force, and gave his opinion on how situations should be handled professionally.

Like most places, Philly has a law against open containers of alcohol in public. He described a scenario of a man sitting on his front step drinking a beer, but not bothering anybody. He said that the best thing to do in that scenario would be to just keep driving.

I feel I see two or three people pulled over over the span of two days or so, when even right before COVID, I could go days or even weeks without seeing somebody pulled over.

I'm happy when I see the local police patrolling my neighborhood, especially at night; I would rather see this than a cop parked on a center divide waiting for somebody to come along doing more than 10 MPH over the posted speed limit.

I literally park in so-called no parking zones all the time in my neck of the woods, and aside from a security guard at shopping center back in like 2019, I've never had a problem.

I delivered a DoorDash order to this shitty apartment/townhouse complex in Bethlehem just after 7:30 last night, and had a bizarre encounter. Of course, they didn't leave the lights on...

Anyway, I'm guessing that the customer ordered the food while they were on their way home work and thought they could beat it home, but I got there first.

I was about to back out of the driveway when a car turned into the driveway and blocked me in. They just sat there, and this was one of those are times I didn't feel like honking the horn; I also didn't want to get out of the truck again in this sketchy area, and I certainly didn't want to interact with this person.

I just put the truck in reverse and started slowly rolling backward. The person got the message and moved out of my way. As I driving away, I thought the person was about to abort pulling into their driveway and follow me; I was ready to floor it, but then they pulled into the driveway . I made sure the doors were locked and we got the hell out of there!

I saw these two at a 1980s-themed restaurant called "Wiz Kids" in Bethlehem last night. Sorry @ABA180, no Darth Maul...

I haven’t seen one of those in years.
I know where one is, in the old pizza restaurant in the next town over. It’s Ben there since I was a kids. I vaguely remember when it was a record machine too. But they switch to cd’s at some point in the late 90s.

Something happened today that reminded me of why I sometimes loathe gig work; I was doing Uber Eats, and I went to the Primo Hoagies in Doylestown, where I have gone numerous times for DoorDash.

I went into the Primo and this woman with dyed red hair, who I've dealt with before but have never had a problem with, was dealing with a customer; I waited for a break in the conversation and said "Uber Eats for so-and-so". I have Aspergers, and one of my issues has been cutting people off during conversation. My parents and my therapist have both told me to wait for a break in the conversation, so that's what I did.

She took offense to me saying anything while she was dealing with this customer and responded very rudely. I apologized and tried to say that I waited for a break in the conversation, and she told me that if I kept running my mouth, she would block me (I'm assuming she meant block my Uber account from accepting orders at that Primo). I calmly walked out of the restaurant and cancelled the order; I didn't get aggressive and see anything nasty, so I don't know what her problem was. Needless to say, I will not be returning to that Primo as a delivery driver or a customer; I also sent the owner an email about how unpleasant his employee was.

Brother, I know exactly what you mean.
My mom and grandfather both will interpret you in the middle of a sentence.
While you’re trying to not to do that, I’m trying not to let it not irritate me. But it’s hard. Your case is a bit different, but when they do it to me, I feel like they are basically saying “what you’re saying isn’t important” and what they have to say is more important.

    Man that irritates me:mad:

As for how you should have reacted.
I think you did ok. But I personally wouldn’t have wrote to her boss. Mostly because I am lazy, and secondly I don’t care enough. I’ve said it before, I’m good at turning my back and walking away. FOR GOOD. Gone, you’re no longer alive to me.

Not afraid to admit my faults, I did let a girl at Subway get to me this last summer. I didn’t handle the situation as well as I should have. But we all have one of those days. She just happened to catch me on that day.
