Thanks. I see the pm, but no attachment. But there's no rush, the system is working fine currently. To see what the filter media is I guess I would need to pull the timer off, correct? I don't see any unions in the piping, so that would need to be a cut and re-glue procedure.

Ha ha... my brother-in-law had told me several times I needed to clean it up. Because it was pretty dirty and had a bunch of pieces of OSB in it that had been wet and were deteriorated. Three or four weeks ago I cleaned the trash out and then went through it with a broom and then my shop vac. Some of the pictures I originally posted were alter from before I cleaned it up. The other pictures were all taken in the last day or two after it looks like Mr Clean went through there. :D

    Is pumphouse envy a thing?

Doesn't it say somewhere " thou shall not covet thy neighbors pumphouse"?

    I kid, I kid.

The home inspector guy that we hired to go over everything before we bought the house said that it was the finest wellhouse he'd ever seen. People that have been to the house tend to say the same thing about the house and the property. I don't know. It cost us a lot of money, but I'm 70 years old and worked hard for a long time. It was like now or never for us, so we decided to move here. A lot of the stuff in the house ranges between what I would call high-end and Overkill. But we love living here, and the dogs like the wide open space to run in.

Those pump houses are so foreign to me living up North. Everything is in a basement or deep concrete pit if you have a mobile home.

that is a huge & fine pumphouse! will make a lot of people want to covet. :)
no pumphouse here at all. will snap you guys a pic a bit later today of what you see on ours.

hats off to you! i hope that it works out for you that way!
we undertook this same move when i was 46. (55now)
we are planning on being here until im 70. if the health allows me to take proper care of it, then sell off at a profit & see what happens.
all of the animals will have passed by then & daughters should be settled in their careers & ready for us to relocate.

just remember: man plans..... God decides.

I'm moving out (god-willing and we make it to closing) to a little parcel - 3.5 acres; and I'm trying to convince myself I need a subcompact tractor vs just a mower and a utility trailer. The land will have a walking path next to a wandering pasture for a couple sheep next year, and maybe 10 chickens and that's about it. Need is a funny thing. I *want* a tractor. But to get what I want, I *need* a tractor :)

As I'm mowing only about 1/3rd the land, I'm considering a standard lawn tractor, but I also want something I can clear a little land/space/over-growth with to build the wandering paths and whatnot. Or to dig up a place for a lined pond/water thing and a tiny excavator would be wonderful. Here's to hoping I make friends with any of the local farmers so I can merely borrow, eh?

    If thats your intended need?

then just get a compact or sub compact tractor. it can still mow & you will be able to save your back using it for everything else.

heres your excuse: if you gonna have animals? you gotta haul feed, hay, muck, mow & so on.
its much more likely that you can avoid the injury with a tractor & FEL.

just make sure you get something with at least a 3point hitch on the back.
FEL is great, but not a must have for hobbying. you can make a carry all for the back.

Thanks! :) Sound reasoning. Now I have to come to terms with 15k or so...It'll take some time as the closings costs nowadays are astronomical.

Heh, my house was half the price of yours and I was still pulling my hair out over all the cost

Luckily for me I acquired all the needed lawn equipment over the years beforehand. Now, all the home improvement stuff, yea that's still hurting
