Not sure what it has to do with this thread, but being a Gen-Xer, I seriously miss Chris Farley, and seeing the Dice Man in some horrible 80s movie.
Sanford and Son, CHiPs the un-PC DOH and my all time favorite The Black Sheep Squadron. Ah the good ol days of Telly.

 

That's the problem with forums like this. You miss a lot of the context of the posts because it's just words on a screen.

If the same group of people were having these discussions over a beer there would be more laughing and less bitching.

Not directed at anyone in particular, just a general observation.

 

Why are you so sensitive? I thought it was pretty funny and it now makes me wonder what the preferred vehicle is for a woman with big inflated duck bill platypus lips.

 

Maybe, rather than thinking “boy, everyone is so sensitive to this incredibly petty and insulting judgement of people we dont even know” and let people live.

maybe the “joke” just isn’t funny.

It’s not everyone that’s so sensitive, it’s just you.

 

Regarding comics of the 70s & 80s, the world is doomed if that sense of humor, the same one that a lot of 50yo+ guys have, can’t be joked about and openly displayed without someone getting offended and/or anally injured. (Is it still ok to say “butt-hurt”? Asking for a friend…).

 

The point is that it wasn’t an attempt at humor, it was just passing negative judgement on others people they don’t even know.

ahhh the internet, never ending arguing over bullshit inanimate objects the are a major pain in the ass, have to drive a miserable commute to a job that we hate to be able to afford a thing that needs constant attention, and if we are lucky that thing will probably end life as we know it on this planet we call Earth. The amount of destruction we have done to the planet just because of the automobile is mind boggling.

 

Funny to be over 50 now and considered "old".

Everyone seems to have the right to be offended, but the same people who get offended are the same people that can't ever just let anything go without pointing out how offended the are.

It's the old "my opinion is right so yours must be wrong" syndrome.

The younger generations seem to habitually confuse opinion with fact.

 

Gen-X is also the generation that doesn't give two rat shits about disputes and insults hurled from or too Millennials or Zoomers/Boomers

 

I’m probably not as young as the hilarious jokesters think I am.


However, I am just completely tired of the “everyone else doesn’t need their truck and makes worse decisions than I do” bullshit.

 

Putting people in groups by when they were born isn’t always telling of how they are as a person. I know plenty of soft people young and old lol.

I’ve just always thought that if you complain like a baby about things, you’re soft. Has nothing to do with generation x,z,y,l,m,n,o,p.

 

Don’t quite understand why they expect the world to be concerned about their feelings.

They are your feelings, only you have control over them. I am not walking on eggshells around them, just because they might get offended.

Sure there are jabs at different Gens, but that is just smack talk joking around. Some get it, others don’t.
