I have new housings also. But your light housings are like mine 05-11 are the same you should have no issues whatsoever.
Me on the other hand have DRL in the turn signals being an 09. And I think the 10's had them too. But drl's have nothing to do with the harness or lights .

Right, the signal DRLs have nothing to do with the headlights or harness. The Canadian style DRLs where the headlights are always on as a DRL and you cannot turn the headlights off is what causes an issue with this mod. If you can turn your headlights off while driving, you do not have headlight DRLs and it is a non-issue.

Might have been just 1st Gen that used headlights as DRLs in Canada. Unsure. But Canada mandates all vehicles have DRLs, so if they were not equipped as stock they got headlight DRLs instead.

My 90 pickup was like that. Yes thats why i swapped to a us non drl module so that i could sit in the truck without turning it off and be able to kill all the lights as with the drl module even if you reapplied the parking brake (my 09 was a mt) the drls wouldn't go off

Tell me more about the module and how to get rid of the indicator DRL please.

Its just a module under the dash by the fuse panel. You just need to swap the drl one for the non drl one. I cant remember part number as it was 14 years ago now and i no longer have the truck.

The jumper block is part #82671-30360. It's kind of a bitch to get the module out to remove the dtrl bits and put in the jumper. I did it for that smart tap relay, which I really like.

Almost 4 years in, one of my Osram 85/80 bulbs has given up the ghost. Now onto the aforementioned Phillips bulbs.

Coming from the 85/80s I think you’re more likely to be happier with the Osram 100/90 Superbrights. Nothing will perform to the level of the 85/80w Hypers unfortunately.

Thought of something interesting last night. All of you folks replacing your worn out / oxidized 2nd gen headlight housings have a great opportunity. Before you bin the old housings, remove and save the headlight bulb retention clips. You know, those things you love to use bad words on when you change headlight bulbs because they tend to fall out and instantly get lost? Not many people know that they're apparently made of Unobtanioum and cost a fortune - if you can even find them.

So, save your clips and keep them in case one of your fellow TW members happens to need one. I did.

That's a great idea. I think I'm going to try to solder a little piece of metal to bridge the opening where the clip sits into so it wont't fall out again.

Hint: A drop of RTV is much easier. Ask me how I know that.

Where are you guys buying your 100/90w OSRAM's? Powerbulbs? Is there something more convenient in the USA?

    Just ordered the headlightservices harness.
