Does anyone know a bed/ tool box (plastic or metal) that will secure to the taco rails? Just hoping for a cab overflow to store straps, cables, and such.

And if there are forums that have discussed this, please direct me. Not finding anything.

    Thanks!

I had the crossover case in my Tacoma. I liked it for the most part. Was fairly easy to remove if I needed the extra room. I will warn you that they are not cheap!

Yea. Pelican never gives their gear away, but it's always bomber.

Did you end up getting rid of it?

Yeah. The truck was totaled, so I had no use for it. I looked for a long time for something that used the rails and never found anything. I bought a universal truck box and made it connect to the front rail (added on by me) on my own using some brackets and thumb wheels on the inside. I used it like that for a while, but it got old, and it wasn't super secure. The Pelican cases were just coming out then and I pre-ordered.

Overall, I liked it. You basically set and forgot the brackets on the rails. They pivoted up and down, so if the case wasn't in the bed, they were mostly out of the way. The brackets swung up/out to the case and there was a thick pin to slide inside both. It secure with a cotter pin that could be padlocked. The case itself had provisions for a pad lock. It took a few minutes to pull out.

At the time, I couldn't find anything else. This was a few years ago, so that might not be true anymore.

I have a front rail as well and it just seems like there should be a system that just attaches. I can definitely see how that wouldn't be super secure.
Hate the thought of several hundred dollars for the pelican set up. but that might be the way.

    Sorry about your truck.

Thanks! Good luck with whatever your solution ends up being.
