Hello, engine light came on. Had Auto Zone check the code . Catalytic converter came up. Bank 1.
Thing is I had a new one put on in February by Toyota. Mine was stolen. Early last month had the engine come on and that time was the oxygen sensor. Toyota did replace it.

why am I having issues with this?

Did your truck get straight-piped again?

[Could be the sensor or the wiring pigtail may have been yanked or damaged by whatever crackhead stole your cat the first time]

Did they use OEM parts or aftermarket?

I would go back and ask them to take a look. A month after and getting another code is a bit weird if they had actually fixed the issue.

You would think but it may not be the case especially if insurance was footing the bill and/or OEM parts were unavailable at the time.

Following! The cat thieves are the worst thing since horse thieves and right inline with full blown car thieves!

Just curious... in what city was it stolen?

They hassled me last time. I gave them the print out AutoZone gave me we I got the code for the oxygen sensor. I had to get a little agro with them. I want to go to a different dealership. Hopefully they’ll honor the warranty.

That is just equivalent to clearing the codes, when the catalyst monitor runs again if it fails the code will come back.

Be sure to verify w/ the dealer that they actually installed Toyota original catalytic converter(s), not aftermarket/3rd party ones. The latter tend to be crap.

So lights stayed off for about a day and a half. I took out again to get the code read and it’s now reading a different code. Oxygen sensor which is what Toyota supposedly changed in November.

New parts can fail right out of the box, but it's rare. I would still suspect harness damage as a potential cause.

Has your truck been running ok? Has it been sluggish to accelerate, or doesn't "want to" rev above say 3000rpm? Have you seen sooty buildup at the exhaust tip, or smelled any weird exhaust smell or seen any smoke when idling?

We have been hit 3x by the cat thieves.
The local muffler shop here does a thriving business with weld-on anti-theft cages for cats.

Both of the things they allegedly replaced are showing up w/ codes. Take it back to Toyota and bring a printed out copy of the codes. Dealer work should have a 12 month/12k warranty.

Bring your “dude” or dad or uncle or brother or whoever with you if you feel like they are trying jerk you around.
