I need help from someone with experience in reconnecting hoses, in a 5vz
. Had labels and pictures. Left for Thanksgiving and came back to a nightmare. I need throttle body hoses, and water hoses for the cooling system. I will post pictures if anyone can help

What do you mean you need help from somebody with alot of hoses? Do you need hoses supplied to you perhaps? Do you need support to reconnect your own hoses?

Just buy the hose in 100' rolls and replace as needed.

@ OP - please be aware that vacuum hose routing and presence, is model year dependent, especially on the throttle body. So just make sure what when you're looking for pictures / diagrams, they need to match your model year. IE, my 2001 and a 2003 have different hoses connected to the intake manifold and throttle body.

I also suggest you find yourself a copy of the digital FSM (google search "1st gen tacoma FSM") it will have the diagrams you're looking for.

Pay particular attention to the water bypass hoses connected to the IAC. You don't wanna pipe coolant into your intake.

Its worth investing in a digital FSM for your particular year.

I purchased one off ebay that comes as a zip file that operates as lan interactive file with a menu.

Me thinks it was like $21 couple years ago.

I use it rarely for myself, but I pull it up all the time for these guys.
You can even pull up individual pages as pdf's and then cut/paste/print.....

You used to be able to find those for free from online links.....but that has pretty much been eliminated.
Some here do have those files.....but are fairly large files.

    The sub-gen1 break down is:

    95 to 97
    98 to 99
    2000/2001
2002 is different and shares some of the electronic TB differences w/03's/04's
    2003/2004

and mfg dates split hairs, sometimes you think you have one, but its already the next year's model, mines a 98 but was mfg in 9/97

Rock Auto sells a cd with the FSM on it if you want to "buy it". It's exactly the same files in the zip file.

You can still EASILY find the FSM "for free from online links"... Just google. There are certain members here who even have links in their signature to the 2001-2004 fsm as well as other model years.
The 2001-2004 FSM is under 50MB- that hardly qualifies as fairly large.

Well those links are quickly becoming dry holes....
the rights to these were purchased in the not too distant past.
and they are squashing those down as they identify and find em....one by one.
especially the interactive ones made up of a menu and links.

This is the reason that Rock auto can legally sell those, they're not winging it, its licensed.

and yes you can find a mega long pdf.....but without that menu....you have to scoll thru like a 1000 pages to find what you need...
I got one of those free way back when....
Very aggravating to use those...especially since those have the 3rz's and 5vz mixed around in different places in those files..

And yes he's right....it seems the older ones seem to be the most difficult to find....
Dont need to believe me, just go and try em out...

Its like the non oem parts....some people swear by em....
but I've had the opposite experience...

Not looking to get into it.. but the links to the FSM from the old TTORA NorCal forum can still be found and work if you know where to look (hint google cache)... so to say that they are quickly becoming dry holes is just false considering the oldest source still works. And again, there is a member here with actively working links in their signature.

"Things don't work for me" is not the same as "things don't work". Just trying to make sure folks looking to get the information they need to help themselves are able to do so without getting shot down because a perceived issue with the FSM format.

I navigate those annoying FSM pages frequently. As long as you understand how they work, it's manageable. I have explained the logic on how to find certain pages a few times in the past. I will link to them if someone needs, but I am not going to type it up again.

Man, you guys went off the rails. OP needed help reconnecting, not buying new ones or buying an FSM. Just post the relevant excerpt.

When keeping a 22 yo vehicle alive buying a FSM can be a lifesaver. Maybe not for today's project, but next weeks.

Yes I apologize for any offense, I appreciate your expertise....

The 03/04's are lacking for experts here...not that many

The older ones are not lacking here...plenty of those...

I really wish I'd bought that hard copy back when they could of been had for $75~$80 range.......now they're pretty much double that....

I just happen to mention I purchased a $21 dollar one that I can even put on tablet......and when your in the heat of battle.....it was a little more greasy finger friendly....

but yes yes much better for my uses....

It got to almost every time when I tried find those to help someone, especially for the older ones.....it was now a dead link.....

So yeah anybody wants author and post updated manual links....power to you...
it could do nothing but goooooood...........would definitely put that in my tech links.

Toyota has already made plenty of money off of us......really dont think they're hurting.........just be damn glad.....you dont own a Tesla.....you could be waiting for 6mos for an authorized repair facility to get to it...and another 3mos for parts...
If you post his manuals.....elon might send his satellites after you....
    .....or his tunnel borer....

And agreed.....this thread has been compromised....at least for the OP's sake.....

I would suggest the OP starts a totally new thread a fresh.....with his pics....
....and let the old farts cat fight it out here....

who in the heck would want to scroll thru all this....

    I'm a 3rz/2rz person........so I will not even speak there......wrong truck/wrong time...

if your hunting for the super bargain action.....these are quickly becoming hobbyist trucks....
and are really geared for DIY'ers....

if you want to cheap out the most......sell the truck and get a corolla ....... or a Schwinn..

    no offense intended.....
