That’s about what I figured. I do long drives in the taco happily, gx seats should be ok.

I do like how much can be shared with the 4runner

Where the 4Runner utilizes the center console better for storage, the GX is taller so a nice plus for everyone that's taller than me :anonymous:

You know I, had taken a liking to the Toyota pickup truck. Been liking them for awhile now…

    @0xDEADBEEF

What I do love about the GX is the rear heat/air.

The LC had it (heat not air), but the GX is quieter and has better road-manners. The LC handled great even but the GX just felt better with the kiddo.

I don't know if you're looking at this as a 'family' vehicle (your GF and the fam) but if you are I think you'll enjoy it.

If you can up the budget, I'd suggest checking out the GX460.

It seems reasonably refined, but doesn’t have a lot of the bs i don’t want from newer vehicles.

    Main goals for me are:
    - road trips with gf and her kids, some of it offroad
    - towing- have 4200 lbs of car + trailer and i suspect many 6x12 uhuals in a few years
    - comfy back seats for when the family visits

Other than that, not too picky.

There is a gx460 here locally for 2x the price and a much shadier dealer..

That full-time 4WD was a game changer in the LC; I expect it to fair pretty well in the GX especially in snow.

Of course you should test the center lock, run it through L and back to H to verify everything works.

I wonder how many have legitimately taken residence there from the transfers.

I say this because many people will renounce their CA residency, buy a home (or multiple) in other states and claim residency there.

However, they'll travel in and out of the state conducting business as normal but getting away from income tax, DMV registration, and other expenses.

I know, because I've seen it and dealt with it a lot with people buying a vehicle from us (especially business owners).

Then they'd get pissed at me when I tell them that taxes are paid at place-of-purchase so if they are taking delivery of a vehicle in CA, they must pay the appropriate CA tax but supply them with a temporary DMV driving tag to drive it out of state to register in their own home state.

Only time you can get away from paying CA tax for a vehicle originating from a CA dealer is by taking physical delivery outside the state, and proper documentation is signed and notarized.

One guy we had to deny warranty work because guess what? He was on his temp tag, stuck around CA for like 2-3 weeks (even though we hired a driver to perform the out of state delivery and notary in Las Vegas, NV) only for the owner to turn back around and remain in CA for awhile. We couldn't be caught having record of his vehicle having any warranty work done per CA state law if taxes weren't collected and the vehicle had not yet been registered outside the state.

We give flea medication to Dex and both our cats but somehow they've all come down with fleas :annoyed: Definitely from Dex since he's the only one that goes outside. Dex's medication is actually a prescribed one, the cats get Frontline. Gonna have to switch it up I guess

He's...an odd one. Some suspect he's just here to sell shit so we've ignored him.

I think since remote areas around the Buffalo now have fiber optic cable, people are buying land to build and work remotely. That seems to be where the land and new construction are going.

Totally unrelated to TacomaWorld, but this makes me remember my first time vacationing in Aruba. In Aruba, there are vacation getaways one can take where one can bundle together various experiences such as snorkeling, scuba diving, ocean kayaing, etc. Being from Canada, I've always considered myself a 'back woods man', so it was kind of a culture shock when I arrived in Aruba. I had a great time, it was a lot of fun.
