I looked at a vacuum hose thread & didn’t see it but can anyone tell me what the hose circled is called? One end looks bigger than the other.

PCV? There’s two on the 3rz. One for the normal PCV and one on the pressed in PCV fitting.

I just swapped mine out. You’ll pick up 5hp

The clips were only like $1.12 so I replaced the rusty ones.

Mine is a 99’ though so a little different.

I only found 2 sites that sell the OEM hose I need and they're both out of stock. But thanks. Your post helped me determine that it's called the engine crankcase breather hose.

There's nothing special about those hoses.....

for the front one I just went to napa and bought 5/8 silicone heater hose...
    it was like 3.25/ft...

The rear one needs to fuel resistant, so I just bought a 10' roll of 5/16 snowmobile fuel line hose from Amazon for 7.99/10ft...

thanks to supply chain probs....you have to poke around a little...
last time I got some other size of silicone by the ft, I had to go to O'reilys on other side of town...

you dont need a whole roll, just couple ft...

    front by the foot....

Looks like a $160 kit for three hoses then a bunch of other silicone hose there. OE is cheap and lasts decades. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What the heck you talking about...

    I get 4.60 X 2 ft = 9.20 for the front hose

and then 11.99 for 4ft.... for the pcv hose

are you talking about gold plated clamps or whatttttttttttttt...

this would even give em an extra pcv hose for future, cause he'd use only half that back hose.

And are you talking about the other rubber that rot from heat and time...
and split /wallow out on the ends, and you never even know it.

So the truck runs like crap.

    that is an excellent plan.

like I said, Knock yourself out......

silicone.....resists heat and just snaps backs to it original shape......OMG

and that fuel hose is Polyurethane instead of lined butyl....basically zero resilience.

I wasnt suggesting he go buy a Lombardini.....

I doubt I will ever have to replace any of mine.

BUt that's just for me.......not even suggesting for the rest of you guys.

my new motor has just over 16K, if I was a betting man, 99% of you guys will beat me to the junk yard.
so yeah, I dont think I wasted a dime....

And you know the no1 reason for these old girls to run poorly as they age.....is an elusive vac leak.

if he uses my suggestion....he'll never have to mess with those two hoses ever again.

yeah I've got $60~$70 in all mine......
    like I said......WHAT ARE U TALKING ABOUT.

Yesterday.....we were all rowdy.....what have we progressed to today....dang

I am talking about the very expensive 3 hose set that runs about $150. Those are pre-formed hoses, not generic, and it's a very expensive kit. But you do you. Don't try to pass of a custom hose kit as just buying random cheap stuff.

I didnt pay anywhere near that.......there's no way in hell I'd pay that for that...

those came from a long time ago....about 6 yrs....now that HP racing hose company, I would never pay their prices...
Everything they sell is waaaaay over priced, unless maybe you have a sponsor.

And if you notice.....those still look brandnew....just a little dried water scale...

its like those silicone tubes on the cold air intake.....if you dont buy them in some combo set deal, they are freakin nuts what they get for those....NUTS

I did price the ones on the radiator......and they are freakin NNNUUUTSSSS....$160
    Are they kidding..

    another thread.....gone amuck.......sorry OP...

Well that's what it costs. And I would watch the stiff silicone hoses as they tend to snap plastic necks on radiators and heater valves. But it's good stuff, just gets expensive, and not worth it IMO. If I replace the heater hoses on my truck with OE they will outlive me.

My suggestion.....OP might be able to go to napa or o'reilys and score tomorrow...
just call around and see if in stock...

I had to call three napa's to find the heater one.
And any lawn mower/engine repair shop should keep 5/16 polyurethane fuel line in stock. I got mine in two days from Amazon....7.99/10ft

I bought a new head to go on my engine, I'm sure he dont need that either....
    I wasnt even hinting it....

That pic was just there to show him that front hose......you can barely make out that clear blue fuel one on the pcv.

IF you really notice....my radiator does circles around any of you guys....crimped plastic radiators....ugh..Not me...

As you can see, I have an angle on most everything, and that is not to waste on high end/name brand BS that wont get you an extra mile.

The oem engine sensors is a completely different animal, crack open that wallet, and buy the real toyota...for sure.
Their hoses, disc pads, oil, atf, coolant, ect,....not so much.

However, I will watch my heater valve, from what you said.....but I think it will be okay.

    No no no

Yeah but those wont last in high temp engine environments...

and the gas fumes coming off the pcv in that one back hose will melt/swell anything thats not fuel resistant...

trust me I tried.....even the silicone one I first tried swelled up like a.....
went running home to its mama...

all those silicone hoses on mine I didnt pull out of my asp...
those were made for engine turbo applications......hence...the high temp spec...

even all those water hoses.....are high temp braided silicone....made to be automotive heater hoses....

You know you cant even use duct tape in the engine compartment....wont last,
you have to use that aluminum peel and stick HVAC plenum tape....

If you dont want to buy the silicone, you have to go the auto store and buy by the foot ...fuel, gates hydraulic, or heater line.

But the problem with these is....they dont have the small bending radius like the silicones do..
they get hot and then they can crimp.

All their vac lines are cheap butyl and very temporary.
However good thing about these is they hide the wear and look good, even when they are not...

I went blue....not to match my shoes, but to easily spot any wear or decay....unlike black.

trust me.....I got smart ass remarks on them....day one...
.....my old boss is/was a jerk too...
