    Just you wait… lol!

Have seen many a hardcore truck owner dudes cave to the will of their wives. If mama ain’t happy…. The bikes go, the muscle cars go…and are replaced with a minivan. You might get lucky and compromise with a Grand Highlander or Lexus TX, but you’re doomed…and don’t even know it. Lol! Good luck! You’ll need it!

Nah I think we are only doing one and done, so we be fine. Wife hates minivans too, I had her test drive an Ascent, she hated it said it was a mom mobile. She almost wanted a JLU.

My kids were already in front facing seats when I got my Tacoma so I’m not sure how tight it really is.

I've had friends their kids did rear, front in Tacos. I'll make it work, its not gonna be the primary kid hauler anyways.

All depends on the seat. Some are much, much bigger than others.

That is exactly how I went from a Frontier to a Titan. Now I am coming full circle since the kids want nothing to do with their parents.

I am not insulted and not sure tf the rest of the comments are about BUT

No, 4runner is extremely capable vehicle, and yes soccer moms drive it because these cars are made for families who need space , capability and reliability. And what out and doorsy? dude 4runner is almost as out dated and old as Tacoma is. Actually IT IS MORE outdated and OLD than Tacoma is. The engine is from 2000s and truck has FIVE speed transmission. All you get inside is small screen and basic controls really.

Its a truck for families who don't need luxury, because if you do need luxury, you go Tahoe or Suburban. 4runner is beast on off road, in snow and so on, it doesn't need to flex to anyone because everyone knows what the truck is capable of. I was hit by sub forester in my 03 4runner that had rusted frame and I didn't even realize I got hit until I saw that white forester thrown up and over on side walk. His left side was totally totaled, tire , door gone. My car? There was literally a scratch that later I covered up with black sharpie...

Kinda missing the point, but that is ok. Pretty much all SUVs and Trucks have become an image thing amongst consumers. Looking the part is far important than the actual practically use of the vehicle. Why they are resembling more of a luxury car and have those lux features than they are a basic work truck or utility vehicle. Hell, my ‘85 4Runner didn’t even have a back seat and full vinyl interior. That was probably the last of the great pure utility vehicles. Today it is leather this and that, heated steering wheels, heated seats…driving assists. Aimed more at the helpless than the actual doers.

I remember being able to hose out the cab of my 70s F250…can’t really do that with a modern vehicle.

Yea well this is how American Toyota is now, they already made Sequoia over 90K and its total garbage. 4runner is oldest SUV truck you can buy literally, has old engine, old transmission, old interior, old tech. There is no luxury in 4runner, it costs over 50K because of capability car has, is made in Japan. It can go to places many cars can't. It is also full boxed steel frame like Tundras and it can tow over 5K without issue, it can tow better than Tacoma yes.

I made a mistake when I went for Taco, 4runner was expensive but I miss it very badly. I've only had Taco for less than a year but I am still thinking non stop to trade it in for 4runner.

And what I originally meant was, those people buying 4Runners for the cool factor, would be much better served in one of the unibody SUVs that Toyota offers. If you’re gonna pay that kind of money why suffer daily driving it?

Think the 4Runner is a great vehicle, but there are better choices out there for average consumer. Of course this is ‘Murica image is everything.

Overland Journal just did a list of their top 10 Overland capable SUV's that you can buy new, the 4 runner made number one on their list. I personally think that dollar for dollar the Toyota 4 runner is probably the best buy available today when you consider durability, longevity etc.

It is looking like the same configuration in the 4th gen that I have now in the 3rd gen is going to run up over 50K. I think if I had to I would definitely just get another full size, and probably another 3/4 ton since right now you can get a Ram 2500 for 52k off the lot. Dealer near me has 2 of em.

I owned a 2014 T4R SR5 premium and traded it in on my wife's 2021 T4R Limited. They are night and day different as far as luxury and comfort go. While not a true full on luxury vehicle, the Limited's are pretty damn nice rides.

The only vehicle I would consider trading my Tacoma in on right now is another T4R Limited. It has nothing to do with what other people think. I couldn't care less. My wife and I both love that outdated, low-tech, inefficient SUV. There is just something about it we connect with. And the fact that it will still be purring like a kitten 20 years from now adds to the charm.

I laugh at all the posts where people think they know why you like this, bought that, are a shitty driver because you think it's inconvenient to daily drive an F-450, etc. But if that makes you feel smart, then please continue. It provides and endless source of entertainment for me. :)
