Finished "Leave the World Behind" Has Kevin Bacon! Kinda meh for me, really. It was just OK. I've probably read too many EOW books and EMP pulse attack scenarios. The Tesla scene was great though!

Just started Godless on NF

 

Just started S2 of Slow Horses.....can Gary Oldman ever not act great in anything....he's a great actor in our time.

I liked LTWB, setup for a sequel and even a series. I like the apocalyptic/dystopian genre though.

Also got $.99 month deal from HULU and watching Fargo S2. Just a great show. Great cameos too.

 

Oldman killing me. My wife repeats the same thing every episode: "Wow could that guy be any greasier?" (I think it was season one when he declared a bug was biting his ass)

It would help if the people who write this shit had some kind of idea how things work in the real world, or a little common sense. The fight at the construction site, where he smashes the concrete block over the guys head and he gets back up and continues fighting. And then the wet concert, in the middle of the night?

 

TV isn't the real world. Gotta suspend disbelief.

 

I finished the orville... idk what to watch next, i have a real tough time picking shows.

I've really been enjoying Rome on HBO/Max lately

 

I get that, and I can let the concrete scene go, but the 25 lb block to the head as hard as he can, and the guy gets back up like nothing happened. It's like the blind dude in the pistol duel at the end of John Wick 4. That was just so over the top that it ruined movie for me. I'm not saying the concrete block ruined Reacher for me, but I hope they've gotten the over the top s*** out of their system.

 

For me it depends on the show, some shows like to come across as though they want the viewer to believe it's a realistic story based on the real world we live in, and that's when stuff like that happening will annoy me.

But movies and shows like John Wick are entirely different, it's essentially a fantasy film so I don't hold it to any realistic standards. It's really just meant to be sheer over the top, sensational entertainment.

(I haven't watched Reacher so I don't really know into which category it fits)
