Good Morning Everyone, Have a Great Day. I'm looking forward to a warm day 40s.
Got a front door panel to put on for a friend, the old panel was damaged. It will be easy but not a piece of cake. The guy got a handle set with a fixed lower mount so my measurements have to be right on.

    Nice woods indeed.
This area, as much of New England was extensively clearcut.
Working farms till the early 1900s and stonewalls everywhere.
All grown in now but the stonewalls are excellent setup points and the old barways are deer corridors.
Here's an aerial photo from a 1930 survey I found showing apple orchards and walls.
2nd photo is one of my spots at a stone wall junction. It's right at the junction of the 2 small fields in the top center of 1930 pic.
    Cool stuff.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Mostly sunny and cool this AM. Between rain days, but we are all disappointed that the promised frontal storm is going to move North, and really miss us. Chance for over an inch is down to tenths.
Productive day for the real engine guys, until they found some $50 insulating biscuits that we don't seem to have any spares of. Can't get them from Amazon! I celebrated (briefly) getting two gland nuts off one intake tube, but no further. I spent 3 hours NOT getting the tubes off. Time to regroup.
Haircut, errands, and I think I'm going to pull the headlights and refinish - because it's much easier with the grille off. Have a great day everyone.

Love that setup spot @bucktales !

Cataracts are progressive and eventually you'd go blind if you didn't have the surgery. There's almost always a trade-off with surgery.

If the plane had been a C-46, that would be Curtis, working on a twin-engine Curtiss, lol. Pictures are great, I especially like the one from the rear of the engines. You don't get to see that side of them very much.

What year is your Taco? I have a double cab 2011 and leave my back seat folded down too, and keep tools and other stuff there I don't want to get wet or stolen. It's amazing how much crap you can stuff back there. I occasionally have to carry people back there or I'd completely remove my back seat and make a lower platform.

I don't post here a lot, but enjoy seeing and reading all the others. Only 8 months to go and I'll graduate to the 70+ forum. I'm enjoying my retirement for the most part. I go to the gun range as much as I can, do some landscape work with a friend to stay in shape and enjoy the outdoors.

    Afternoon all:

I knew I had it somewhere, pic. of my 1985 4-runr. Granville Conversion, one of my favorite vehicles, only ever saw one other one, when I bought it, it had 35's on it and really looked neat! Not the best pic., the graphics continue up to the front of the fender but don't show up too well in the pic.

Well, got home in time to tackle the lights. All the treatment is much easier off the truck. I gave it part of the Cerakote box I had, then that Meguiars UV spray. Hoping this all works. Just trying to get rid of the ragged edge of the original coating - look carefully in the middle of the first pic. I hate the part where they tell you messed up is good. Looks like they will be alright tomorrow.

I got my new to me grille put back together. The tape is what I learned taking it apart - I don't have three hands. I can't wait to get this installed!

thank you sir! Next is to fix-up the tabs on the flares, and get them on. Then it's complete body wise. I'll put my cover on last - might just wait until he is done with the block - that white stuff gets everywhere!

When my first cataract popped up, my Ophthalmologist told me it wasn't bad enough to address because I still had 20/20 vision.

A year later it had gotten so bad (from my perspective) it just had to be bad enough. Nope, I still had 20/30 vision in that eye.

A year and a half later, right in the midst of the recession and both my wife and I without full time jobs (i.e. with insurance), I went in again to complain about the cataract. She lectured me about how cataracts progress very slowly and how it was impossible for my eye to have gotten bad enough for the surgery; then she started examining my eye and got real quiet, and after a while said, "Well, in the last eighteen-months your eye has fallen off a cliff, you are now legally blind in that eye." To make matters worse, she followed up with, "Your eye is now so bad it will cost $16,000 to get it done."

Given I had no insurance I opted to do nothing about it thinking, "Well, the eye is blind now, it can't get any worse." Bzzzt! I'm sorry that is incorrect; less than two months later all peripheral vision had been erased and I could look directly at the Sun while waving my hand in front of my face and barely see a shadow.

At the time I was working with a gentleman from India and he suggested I travel to India for the surgery as they have U.S. trained doctors and U.S. or European supplies and equipment, and do a brisk business in "Medical Tourism". I called a clinic in Mumbai and they told me the price for the surgery and the Crystalens was about $4,500; I figured another $2,200 for airfare and lodging, and was about to pull the trigger on buying tickets. Another person told me a clinic near where I lived about a local Ophthalmologist who was active in the community to help those without insurance to get the care they needed; I called his office and talked to his assistant and told her my story. She said, "Let me talk to the doctor, hang on for a few minutes." When she picked up the phone she told me the doctor agreed to match the $6,700 it would have cost me to go to India. After I had the surgery I found out not only does this surgeon make care affordable for the uninsured, but he is also the surgeon other surgeons send their botched surgeries to for remediation.

Needless to say when my second eye went round the bend two years later (I once again had insurance), I went to him and not to my original doctor.

What a great story and the whole ordeal that you had to go through due to the incorrect judgement of your eye sight from your first Ophthalmologist.
Glad that you found the best solution to solve your problem!
